OAK!

As many of you know, and I've loudly proclaimed, I'm currently the leader by a WIDE margin the Darkhawk registry. I'm mostly proud to present Issue 49 CGC SS. This will probably be the ONLY copy from my original collection (which went up to about issue 26) which is included in the registry.

I bought this one NEW off the shelf after I had been out of comics for a few years, when I randomly wandered into a store while waiting to eat at a nearby restaurant. The art was very different, and seemed very out of proportion and somewhat Liefeldian, especially with the odd musculature and strange-feet. The interior art of Tod Smith is much better than the cover art, which I actually think is pretty consistent throughout the series...

I took better care of this one, and am glad the grade is fairly high (late issues are impossible to find NM or higher), but a little sad it didn't press higher.
