I never thought I would own an Amazing Spider-Man #1

Hello All,

I am so happy that the Amazing Spider-Man #1 I submitted for grading is on its way back to me. The really awesome thing was that it was awarded a grade higher than I expected.

A few years ago I came across a comic book store called "Southern California Comics." SoCal Comics is located here in San Diego and has tons of silver and golden age comics for sale. One day I visited the store and realized as I was peering into a display case, that in front of me was a few Amazing Spider-Man #1 comics. I was shocked to see the books, it was the first time I had ever seen the book up close and personal.

I struck up a conversation with the store owner Mr. Jamie Newbold and he stated that #1s become available for sale every so often. I told him I would love to own one gut the price was way out of my budget. Jamie looked at me and became really serious. He told me that if I really want one he would work with me to make it happen.

I asked him what he needed from me. He told me that I would have to commit to the sale. That he would allow me to pay for the book over a three moth period. At that that point I became really nervous and asked to see the books.

In the case was a CGC Graded AS-M #1 graded at 4.0 and a raw AS-M graded at a 2.0. Jamie stated that he graded the book himself and that the grade was reliable. The CGC graded book was expensive(over $5,000.00) and I knew my wife would kill me

for spending that kind of money. The book in the raw was graded at 2.0/good and he said he would sell me the book for $1,700.00 if I was serious about owning an Amazing Spider-Man #1.

Initially, I was scared that I would not be able to keep my end of the deal and pay for it by the end of the three months. However, once I was all in and determined to own the book I paid for the book in 3 payments. I never told my wife that I purchased a $1700.00 comic book and I kept it hidden away for at least two years. Finally I decided it was time to submit the book for grading.

This month I sent the book in for grading. I was terrified I would never see the book again. Then one day I seen that book had made it to Florida safe and sound. Since I submitted it for Fast Track grading the three days it took to grade and ship the book were highly suspenseful. Then The day arrived when I could finally see the grade that my book was awarded a grade.

3.0, 3.0 was the grade my book was given. I was stunned and began too laugh with joy. My wife came upstairs and asked me why I was so happy. I finally told her about the book and the grade it was awarded. "You better sell that stupid book," is what my wife said as she smiled and walked back downstairs. I immediately called Jaime and thanked him for selling the book to me. He stated to just please say nice things about my experience dealing with him.

Jaime, your the man! I'm super excited about my newly CGC graded Amazing Spider-Man #1. If your out there and you want that book you don't think you will ever own. Don't give up on your dream and don't be afraid to take a little risk. Thank you for reading my journal and go get that book you always wanted,
