Next up is an addition I did to my man cave/display room just yesterday.  This wall with the window/curtains had been challenging me for awhile. I just couldn’t seem to use it’s to it’s full potential. Finally decided to put some effort into finding a table.  The solution ended up being a 70” console, which I got on-line from Rooms To Go.  This arrived in three days and needed assembly. It’s the first piece of furniture I have bought like this where everything actually lined up like it was supposed to!  Used Gorilla Glue on the dowels so I think it will be okay.

This ended up being perfect for some of my smaller pieces.  I’m happy with it!  I added it to this journal because the items on it are mostly related to this set.

Found this on IG from Daring Comics in Mexico City. $18.00 + $15.00 shipping which I found really fair. Sent via Mexpost which took about a month but arrived safe and sound.  11” x 17” and displays nicely, although I haven’t found a spot for it yet.

I ordered a few more Death of Superman items from them that were available during this year’s La Mole Comic Con… a print and sketch book and will post pics when they arrive. 

That’s a heck of a set you got there!

Thanks @Brandon Shepherd!  I appreciate that!  Feel like I'm losing steam sometimes... just counted and realized I have 27 books total at CCS/CGC (mostly from this set) in four submissions (I'm a small fish!).  The earliest arrival was received 5/18/21 and is the last 9.8 I need for this set (I don't think it's a 9.8 but fun to send in anyways)... has been 'CCS in Process' now for awhile.  At this rate I won't see that book, or any of the others until the second half of 2022.  Between the TAT's at CCS/CGC and waiting nearly three years for statues to arrive, being in this hobby is definitely taking patience to a whole new level.  Was thinking, I had three birthdays from the time I ordered the Cyborg Superman until it was received... that's nuts!

Still having fun (most of the time) though!! 

Grabbed a few raw books from this set recently…. got this Platinum Edition from my LCS. Had been on the wall for awhile and I couldn’t resist it anymore. Not a bad looking copy… plan on leaving this sealed as I didn’t have any other raws of it.

Also grabbed this pack recently. My immediate plans were to open it but it looks pretty sharp so now I’m a bit torn as to what to do with it. I’m 99.99% sure I don’t need any of the books in it but man I love opening these. We’ll see…

What I do know for sure is I love everything about this set, the various packs, printings, etc.  It just never gets old!

Note - I was lucky on a previous submission and sent in an Adventures of Superman 498 3rd printing, which is included in this pack, and got a 9.8!  It was the lone 9.8 out of a 20 book submission… yikes!!  Here it is…

Ended up opening that 20 pack and pulled another one of these out of it…

After looking back through my pics I realized I got the first copy out of the same 20 pack about a year ago.  This is the only book I have personally seen this logo on but I imagine there are others… it’s too cool to have only been used on this one book!

Both of these copies are decent (with a press) and I plan on sending them in at some point in the future, when TATs aren’t so, sooo, sooooooo depressing.

I’m not sure if they have any more… I do have an extra one though, that would probably be a great part of a trade/sale for a certain 9.6 I know of…

I have the La Mole books. Definitely would like to add one of those prints.  Unfortunately I am still not looking to let go of THAT 9.6... (if / when I do you will be the first to know about it.) 

Picked this little guy up the other day… waiting on the Big Apple ‘Limited Edition’ to arrive to see how they are different (so far can’t tell from the pictures).

Pretty much get excited about any Doomsday/Death of Superman merchandise that comes out!

Just got this in the mail today!  Even though this is Justice League branded, I definitely consider it more in line with this set. There would be no black suit, or silver ‘S’ without this story!  This hat is a SuperHeroStuff exclusive and probably my new go-to headgear!  I love the texture!

A couple other cool things with the black suit/silver ‘S’ that pre-date the JL movie by a long shot… and prove that this hat belongs here!

This week, I was able to upgrade one of my slots with this book, which is one of only two Signature Series 9.8 copies. The seller was pretty awesome and made it a very pleasant transaction.  Full details are in the link below the picture.

Forgot to mention I added the Big Apple ‘special edition’ Doomsday Pop to the collection to accompany the Walgreens Doomsday mentioned above.

I was hoping for some metallic paint, or anything to make it different from the widely available Walgreens Pop.  If there is a difference, I can’t figure it out. A little disappointing but the chrome sticker is cool though, I guess 

Just received this cool stand from Slab Stands (who I found on IG).  I wanted something a little special for the only magazine size book in my set… I think I got it!

Just upgraded another slot from a Universal 9.8 to Signature Series 9.8. Ended up getting a pretty good deal on this double signed book!  I hesitated because my Universal was my original raw copy from the ‘90’s but I think what pushed me over the edge was the fact that I would not have to reholder this one, unlike a few other ss books I picked up recently…

As promised yesterday, here are a few very cool items I just added to my collection thanks to @onlyweaknesskryptonite

The first is the Retailers promo pack related to the Death of Superman. I had wanted one of these for some time so am really happy to have received this. Only thing missing here are the other RIP metal pins, but I don’t see myself needing more than one any time soon… 

Now, this next set of items I had never seen before.  This is a very awesome dossier that came out to promote Adventures of Superman 500. It contains classified information on each of the possible Supermen… DC put some money and thought into this one!  It’s heavy and very high quality…

Because this is TOP SECRET, I have hidden the contents of the folder below, although I do think that this would have been declassed by now…

Very happy to have these historical items in my collection, along with the books from this great set. There are a few things in here that may be headed to the frame shop soon

Thank you!  They are awesome!  Only problem is that I need to buy a proper Safe to store the classified information... don't want Uncle Sam breathing down my neck!
