I call this book The Beast... with a triple cover it must be BULLETPROOF!

I could have included this with 'in the meantime' but I feel that this book is so awesome and unique that it deserves it's own entry!

The full details of how I came upon this book are in it's slot in my addendum set here:

Not that it matters, but my opinion is that the 1st cover is also an easy 9.8.  Man I love this book!!

I saw that book on YouTube a few weeks back. Congratulations on a unique find!

Thank you!  I'm going to have to find that video!

Found it!  Looks like he had to do some extra work to make this book happen!  I really appreciate it and am glad we agree on the 1st cover being better than 9.6!  Thanks @Brandon Shepherdfor telling me about this video!

Here it is. Looks like the book has been on a long journey.

Thanks again!  So cool to have both videos here!

That's a fantastic and likely unique piece. It's pretty impressive that a triple cover book survived the assembly process intact, given how different the thickness is versus normal!

Makes me wonder if this was a make-ready or some such rather than a production copy?

For shame! lol

The videos above are pretty cool… one when he sent it in and the triple cover was missed by CGC and another when it was fixed by CGC… he seems to be on the up and up.

My story, and I’m stickin’ to it, is that The Beast is a legit triple cover! :headbang:

Oh, no, no, I don't mean to imply this isn't a legit copy. Make-readies in printing are runs used to test and calibrate the equipment before the production run starts (or sometimes if it has to be restarted). Alternatively, they might just have had pretty liberal tolerances that let a basically double-thick book pass through production unscathed.

Ahhh, thank you!  I took no offense but also had no idea what a make-ready was.  That’s really interesting!  I guess it could be something like that then, huh?!  So many really cool things yet to learn about this hobby. Thanks for that new bit of knowledge!
