Has this happened to anyone else?

I sent a group of 20 books in for grading in February, marked as received on the 14th. On the 21st I was charged $683 for a submission that appeared to be, at least in part, a duplicate of my submission. After 3 calls to customer service with no refund, I finally called my credit card company and disputed the charge. A temporary refund was issued. After almost a month a refund was issued by CGC and the credit card company removed its temporary refund. Almost immediately, CGC charged me the $683 again and the bogus submission still is shown among my submissions. Now six weeks later and another call to customer service and I am still on the hook for $683. I can’t understand why this is taking so long to sort out. Every customer service rep I have spoken with has understood the problem and forwarded reports etc. yet the problem is still there. It’s been several days since my last contact with CGC and still no change. Anyone have a suggestion?

Sorry, I don’t know what this means

Richard, thehumantorch has 'tagged' CGC Mike as he works for CGC and, as well as managing the forum here, he often helps members with issues like the one you have described above. He's on holiday for a week now though so won't respond for at least that period. You clearly have already spoken to CGC agents on the phone so the only other thing I can suggest is that you post your question again in the 'Ask CGC' forum which you will find here:

https://boards.cgccomics.com/forum/23-ask-cgc/

CGC customer service staff like @MattM CS and @NickiO CS review that forum and they may be able to help you there, if indeed they don't respond directly to the tags I've just made here. Good luck.

 I would report again to your credit card company to dispute the charge and advise of what CGC did with the duplicate charge.

If you use Economy Tier, it's $35 per copy (slow track).  $35 times 20 books is $700 before the shipping and S/H fees.   If you use Modern Tier, it's $24 per copy (slow track).  $24 times 20 books is $480 before the cost adds up.

I think you are using Elite membership, you get 10% discount on every book on which tier.  I guessed you are currently using Economy Tier, $35 times 20 books then use 10% discount.  You would pay $630 before the shipping cost and $5 S/H fee.  Maybe one book may be bumped to either Standard or Express Tier if one book is valued more than $400.

One time, I used Economy Tier for my Batman #251 before the fees were increased.  I was charged $67 dollars more for bumping my book to Express Tier but I am very happy with my Batman #251 CGC 9.4 White pages (the value is currently $2600).

Hi, how have you been? I am an elite member. Nothing got bumped up and I already got them back. Just a straight up double charge for a submission.
  Really amazing part is that I sent them in February 14, and had them back by March 31. The turnaround time when I sent them was like 160 days.

Pretty good.  It's only 59 days. I don't think they double charged you.  I hope I am right about your fees.

I don’t think you understand. I sent in one group of 20 books (1 submission). A week later, a second duplicate submission appeared for which I was charged also. Even though I only had sent in one group of 20 books, I was now being charged for 40 books. None were high value, certainly none worth more than the $400 cap.

@richard8158,

Hello,

Because this is an accounting issue, please send me an email directly at submissions@cgccomics.com so I can better assist you. Please include your submission number, customer number, and a full explanation of the situation. Also for any future questions, please be sure to post them in the ASK CGC forum mentioned above by @Get Marwood & I. Thank you!

Matt, I sent you an email. This, by now, should be a well documented problem as I have spoken to four different agents and    believe we even exchanged an email.
