  1. It’s kind of sad how variant covers completely took over around 2000.
  2. Picked up some nice Punisher run books to finish off the Eurohit story (I have the rest of the issues already). also thrilled to add PPSM 1 back to my collection for what I thought was a fair $35. I bought this back in the early 90s for $50 and sold it for peanuts so it’s more of a nostalgia buy than value, but I had gift cards to use anyway.
  3. Small HPB pickup. I already have Archie vs Punisher but for $2 I’ll buy it again. Someone doing the pricing was smoking the good stuff, because they had Secret Wars 8 for $175 and ASM 316 for …$200!!!! behind the glass. Sad thing is someone will probably pay those prices.
  4. Found some great $1 run fillers and splurged on DD 254 since I had a coupon and gift card anyway. I buy the Marvel Age Groo covers when I find them.
  5. I got out to the comic store for my about yearly visit. Got a nice run of Spideys which I never see.
  6. Been slim pickings at HPB lately, but I feel like this was a good haul for $2 total.
  7. Shocked to find this in the bin at HPB for $3. I can’t believe it wasn’t in the case overpriced like crazy.
  8. Big Punisher lot from eBay. I never see early books in the bargain bins. I have a couple from this lot but most are new to me.
  9. I finally started reading Punisher 2099 now that I have the first half of the run. This book sucks. It’s so cheesy and has none of the charm as the regular Punisher does. Does it ever get better?
  10. Couple fun HPB finds. Don’t typically see many old Batman or Superman stuff there unless it’s locked up. I’m slowly but surely completing the Punisher 2099 run, missing maybe 10 issues.
  11. Hard to follow the monsters posted on this page. I already had Born #1 so I was happy to finish the series. Tec #1027 was $3 so a no-brainer to fill the run.
  12. Some nice Half Price Books finds in addition to a bunch of Batman run fillers.
  13. I wore the cover off my copy as a kid, reading about all the games I’d never see for sale or rental anywhere.
  14. I don’t want to sound like a wet blanket, but the posts with a hundred scans completely clog this thread and make my phone kill itself dying to load everything. Why doesn’t the forum remember your last spot in a thread so you don’t have to start at the top of the page every time?
  15. Superman thinks it’s funny that he almost got his coworker killed through negligence.
  16. Herbie #1,8 and 9. I have more than half the run now. the backs of the boards have very detailed notes. I wonder what the numbers and letter codes mean? Could have been a comic shop catalog system, but then why so much detail in the descriptions?
  17. Checked out a great comic store in my town I’d never been to. Tons of back issues and IMO fair prices. Bought a bunch of $4 or less back issues including crazy Superman clickbait covers that I love so much. Great way to spend a few hours.
  18. Some nice .50 bin finds. I love the sillier Superman before he got super serious in the late 80s.
  19. I can’t find any old topics about notable letters to the editor entries. This topic can be used to show famous people who wrote in (associated with comics or not), funny letters or responses to letters, or notable for any other reason. this picture is from Herbie #12 and shows Marv Wolfman as a second place winner in the create a story contest. I wonder what his story idea was? This issue came out when he was 18 or 19, a few years before he started his career.
  20. Adding to my Herbie collection. These books are hilarious. Excellent art and writing throughout.
  21. I’m sure they’d be happy to buy your collection for 1980 prices. Maybe even 2015 prices!
