  1. Since my recreation thread has been lost in the archives, I will load this up here. The only relationship between Blue Beetle and Mr. Justice that I can think of is the similar headgear. But still digging to find out more information about BB artists. Cooper didn't do any work for Fox that I can think of and neither did Montana but what about the rest? Does anyone have any art to post? Was there an Ashe cover recreation in one of the threads.
  2. I never went to the museum when I was a kid but my grandmother always saved the Flash Gordon Sunday pages for me.
  3. Some of the Chamber of Chills stories were pretty good too. I think the colorist should win an award. Here is a splash from 15 which isn't as good as I would like but I am grateful to GA.UK. It seems like the Harvey comics have stretched their palette way beyond four colors. bb
  4. Looks as if Slam Bradley liked to improve his mind by reading Detective Comics. I think he switched to reading Action Comics at about the time this Detective 25 story was drawn. bb This was probably a fiche scan that somebody cleaned up.
  5. Sub 1 inside back cover is the typewriter ad. I have a better scan from Human Torch 4 and can make one from Cap 2.
  6. I got a few extra covers a few months ago. I like the Capt. Easy covers but not sure if they were done by Turner or someone else. Pretty sure that Crane wouldn't be doing them. And Schomburg did some but there is no XELA signature on these. Who? Who? Who?
  7. A.C. Hollingsworth also inked the spirit in 1951. This could be one by him.
  8. Someone posted this recently and I am just adding it here as an example. Sorry about the swipe. But if you are going to NYC and want to buy a book for your kids, you might find a copy of his book.
  9. I found a bunch of scans on line and thought I would post a few so you guys don't have to crack open those cases to see the inside comics.
  10. Found a Tex Blaisdell illo in Prison Break 3. This page was used as an index and a lot of pretty good art appeared on the inside cover of some comics. Kinstler and Wood did some of those. Does anyone have this art or was it chucked? GA.UK scans

  12. I think I missed the boat on that splash page. It may be Pat instead of Ulmer but probably not Quinlan. Quinlan did sign his work better than anyone else in the business. Kane and Shuster signed a lot of stuff that they didn't do but you can tell Quinlan's style like Palais who signed most of his stuff too.
  13. I think Flash was a back up in Fu Manchu by Wood.
  14. And a lot of interesting splash panels.
  15. The art for Blue Beetle looks a lot like Stoner but AC's work was more apparent on the covers of Avon horror comics.
  16. Hollingsworth did a back up strip for Blue Beetle 44.
  17. Someone posted this recently and I am just adding it here as an example. Sorry about the swipe.
  18. I would like to find a copy of that paper cutter cover too. It was also a pulp cover. Palais did the comic but who did the pulp?
  19. Doesn't look much like Palais. What about Lee Elias? He did most of those Black Cat Mystery covers. bb
  20. Sounds right Jack. He was pretty good at making those covers and Z-D did use his talents. I think we had a similar discussion about Amazing Adventures. bb
  21. I think I over edited the comments above. Pippin's arm was paralyzed but he used his other arm to control the motions of the brush that was held in the hand of the injured arm. Sounds tough to me.
