  1. Book is not that bad of shape. Definitely needs a press. I would agree with the other folks here regarding the grade. 9.0/9.2 after a press.
  2. For California I would recommend Spero's Heroes. About an hour from Los Angeles. No new books, just back issues. Gold, silver, bronze, and copper. Great selection at fair prices. Extremely friendly staff that loves to talk old comics. Note* They are closed on Mondays Tuesday and Wednesdays. Spero's Heroes Comic Book Store 21037 Devonshire St Chatsworth, CA 91311
  3. It was signed by Winick Mahnke Nguyan. He just used a bold white font when he signed it.
  4. Make sure your oven is calibrated. If it is a newer oven, it should be ok. Older ovens have a habit of heating higher than the setting. If your not sure if your oven is calibrated properly buy an analog oven thermometer.
  5. So it is not innocent until proven guilty, it is guilty without evidence until proven guilty. Got it. I see that someone is confused. I don't disagree, I'm just saying that society sure has a different view of things these days.
  6. She is what 22 years old now? She doesn't need you to fight for her, and the other guy is deceased. There is no point in fighting for him now. Wouldn't it be wise to wait until we get all the details from both sides before forming an opinion? To answer your question though, it is OK for a 40 year old man to talk with a 17 year old.
  7. I'm not necessarily sure it does help to talk about it. (Though I do admit to liking some of these posts, which I guess makes me a hypocrite). People are making assumptions without knowing all the details. What is the point? David Bowie said that the internet could be the best thing to happen to society, or it could be the worst thing to happen to society. I think human nature has decided which way they want to go with it. When it was used as a tool it was great. A fantastic source for spreading information and education. Now it is being turned into a weapon. It has done more harm than good, with social media. turning brother against brother and truth against un-truth, country against country. I have a bleak outlook at what this world will look like in ten years. It is funny to me, regardless of what you think about Ed Piskor, it is funny, seeing how moral people have become about a seventeen-year-old. Mick Jagger hooked up with a 17-year-old Chrissie Shrimpton, 17-year-old Marianne Faithfull, and even hooked up with 14-year-old Lori Maddox. (I feel I shouldn't have to say this but knowing how people are these days, I probably should. Hooking up with a 14-year-old is disgusting.) That didn't seem to stop him and his group from having a hit record this year. Maybe he didn't have to "groom" them. I guess that made it ok. Maybe I missed the outcry from social media when his new album was released. Regardless, I just felt I needed to say what I had to say. Feel free to complain about my view if you like. That's what the internet is for these days.
  8. I've watched and enjoyed a few of the Cartoonist Kayfabe videos in the past. This is the first I had heard about any allegations against him. I don't really know how to react, other than to say that it is a crazy world we live in these days. Much crazier than it was ten years ago.
  9. No matter what the grade, it will always have that chip of color missing from Colossus's head.
  10. Yeah, I didn't like that either, but he did take away the Thing's rocky form and brought back his lumpy look, which I thought was an improvement.
  11. if only Ebay allowed sellers to review the listing before posting it. *Sigh*
  12. Yeah it's a print error. I found a graded copy on ebay. Devil Dinosaur #1 CGC 5.5 4/78 | eBay
  13. I wouldn't be surprised if it was him. His grading was so bad he probably didn't even look at the book.
  14. Ultimate Spiderman 2 is already selling between seven to twelve dollars on ebay.
  15. I have my SIlver/Bronze/and copper books alphabetized in one collection and keep all modern books 2000-present in a separate collection. Then I have all my higher value books in a file cabinet. I still don't have all the modern books alphabetized yet. It's a big hassle when a box gets full, and I need to transfer books to the next box and the next box etc. to keep them in alphabetical order.
  16. I knew this round was going to be tough on me. I think I scored a ten. I mean, I know I did......... but I am in denial.
  17. If Frankenstein is Sci-Fi, movies like Re-Animator, From Beyond, and Return of the Living Dead would also be Sci-Fi. Even though it is technically sci fi, you can find a movie horrifying to watch. If the movie horrifies you, then it should classify as horror, right?
  18. I think you are making the right decision. If the buyer asks why, simply tell him that you do not sell to buyers with zero feedback. You should probably update your listing as well, for anyone else thinking of purchasing the book.
  19. There is an oversaturation of this type of material. New writers think they are breaking boundaries, but these boundaries were broken forty years ago with titles like Sandman and Preacher. And ten years before that, we had Camelot 3000. I wouldn't say that this is the main cause of the decline of comics, but it certainly isn't bringing in more readers. As others have already mentioned price is one of the biggest factors. If Spawn can sell for $1.99, then we are talking about a reachable goal. The whole process of comic publishing needs to be restructured, from the quality of the paper to distribution, to the artists and writers. The more I think about, it the more I realize how unlikely it is for the comic industry to survive.
  20. I used to put three bronze age books into one silver age bag and they held up pretty good. But they also need to be stored in a full box to avoid drooping and bending.
