  1. OK, thanks. Where do I locate the submission number. If it is important to CGC (and me) you would think it would be generated and printed on the packing slip when one creates it or on the packing slip when one of the books in a shipment is returned. I have been known to be thickheaded however so perhaps it's somewhere and I am missing it. Thanks.
  2. Sorry, I don’t know what @MattM CS means. I clicked on it and got a bunch of your past posts but, I didn’t see anything there about my topic. If it’s there and I missed it please let me know. Thanks.
  3. OK, I asked CGC several months ago and just tried again; waiting on their reply but, I thought some of you smart folks might know the answer. I have 19 missing comics, not yet returned, presumably not yet graded. The submissions are all about a year old. So, past the eight-month limit for tracking submissions. Has anyone else had this issue? How do you find your books in the system? When I enter my eight-digit order number the system comes back with the last three digits of the number missing and tells me no details can be found; well, I guess not since the number it displays is not my complete order number. The only numbers I can find are both the same, on my packing slip copy, printed at the time of packing, I have the number under the barcode in the upper right corner CGCxxxxxxxxxx (ten random digits), then the same number appears on the packing slip with the returned books. Of course, different tiers are graded at different times and retuned in separate boxes. So, I have some books back from a submission but not all. It is the books that have not yet been sent back to me that I cannot locate in any DB in the CGC directory. Any ideas other than I might be screwed?
  4. Hello. sorry for the long delay. I have been in the process of moving for several months and was just able to get back to this topic. I have checked my spreadsheet on comics submitted and received, and I have noted 19 comics, spread over 10 different submissions that I have not received. All were submitted about a year ago. When you ask for the submission number, what do you mean? I do not see anything identified as a submission number do you mean the number on the packing slip that is preceded by "CGC"? As far as order number, I assume you mean the CGC Web order number that is on the packing slip that is sent back with returned comics? Also, I have tried searching by the CGC web order number, entering all ten digits but when the search comes back the last three numbers of the order number are missing. So, as an example, when I enter the CGC Web Order number from one of the packing slips I received with a returned comic, 3314607364 and hit enter, what I get back is "Submission #3314607" "Details not found". What am I doing wrong? The CGC web order number 3314607364 had ten comics that were submitted; 6 were modern - I have received those, 1 was standard - I received it, and 3 were economy - I have NOT received these three. Please help me in locating my missing comics or tell me how to find them in the database re status - scheduled for grading etc. Thanks.
  5. CGC, I submitted 10 books last year, they were entered into your system as received on 10/22/21. 1 book was economy, 7 were modern, 2 were standard. When I last checked my submissions page on June 22, 2022, all 10 books still appeared and the single book not yet received, the economy book, showed as "Scheduled for Grading". None of the 10 books currently appear on my submissions page. Since it is now more than eight months since being entered into your system (by 5 days), I assumed that I could use the search feature as advertised on the site to find books submitted more than eight months in the past. I typed in my submission number and nothing appears other than a note saying I can only use the search feature for submissions older than eight months. Again, the submission IS older than eight months so why is it not showing up when I enter the submission number? Frustrated to say the least.

    Grader notes

When will CGC set a standard for grader notes? I find it increasingly frustrating that one grader will provide notes for a comic they grade as a 9.6 (I assume because they think I want to know why it did not grade as a 9.8. Yes, I do want to know) and, another grader who does NOT provide notes for a book they grade as 9.0 or 9.2 (I want to know why on these books too!) Clearly, some graders are overworked and do not have time to upload grader notes and others have a lot of time since they can provide notes for a 9.6. CGC really needs to pick a standard, maybe any book less the 30, or 20 years old should be required to get notes if it grades out less than 9.6. I have sent in several books recently that I thought would grade out at 9.8 or 9.6 at a minimum but are coming back as 9.0’s with no explanation whatsoever. Not a good load for CGC.
  7. wow, ok thanks. good to know.
  8. Topnotchman, are you trying to tell me that the CGC "newsletter" is the same as news and press releases? CGC gave me the impression they email a newsletter.
  9. So, how does this get fixed? I checked my profile and my email address is correct. I have not received any newsletters since being a member and I would certainly like to, Thanks.
  10. Sorry, they are NOT going to my spam folder, I have checked. I’m have not received any.
  11. Hello, I have been a member of CGC since last July and have signed up for the "newsletter" but have never received any. Do you still publish a newsletter? Thanks.

    Fees.

Thanks, looks like you are correct on the $5 handling fee.

    Fees.

Hello, I have a question about “fees” for a comic I sent in under the walkthrough category. I’m trying to understand the charges on the invoice. I valued the comic at $3,500 (actual value much less based on grade received) so, 3% of my estimated fair market value would be $105 which, is what I was invoiced for on the “line” on the invoice. I understand there is a $150 minimum charge for the WT category. However, on the “other” line of the invoice I was charged an additional $50, this does not include the charge for S&H which was $39. So, if my fair market value fee was $105 it seems like $45 should have been added to get to the minimum of $150. But, $105+$50 is $155. Why the extra $5? Looking forward to the answer, thanks.
  14. I’m new to the CGC so this may be addressed somewhere else. For non variant cover books are comics with UPC codes generally more or less valuable than books without the UPC e.g. Spider-Man in the rectangle? I have notIced that it is pointed out on some eBay listings as the “newsstand” version. If the UPC is generally more valuable, why? Thanks for any input.
