  1. I think so, but it wasn't so much a "time" as it was just an editorial mistake early on. I'd have to go back and check, but I'm fairly confident that happens in at least one issue, but it may even only be in one story of that issue (back when issues had multiple adventures in them)
  2. lmao yeah, i guess that's next. i wish i would've realized that that was essentially a Spidey book much earlier.
  3. I actually forgot to mention that it also completes my run of every mainline Spidey issue pre-1999 reboot when they pared the line down to ASM/PPSM. I now have complete runs of ASM, Spectacular, Web, Adjectiveless, and Sensational. I'm pumped
  4. Finally received mine, and as with the previous Spider-Man and Avengers, it's everything I hoped for and more. Gotta admit, though, I have no idea how you get a low number edition. I put in my pre-order literally the second the listingwent live--I keep odd hours and yes I was constantly refreshing the Taschen website daily for weeks--and got #652. I don't care that much, but I definitely thought I had a chance at getting a sub-100 but alas
  5. At long last, my run of 1-500 is officially complete. And only 2 more annuals to complete my run of annuals released during that same run.
  6. He must've updated it, because apparently I already have this listing saved. I think previously it only went up to issue 800 or so. He's a local (to me), good dude whom I've bought from a few times.
  7. #2. I don't want to count my chickens--or in this case, vultures--before they hatch, since it hasn't physically arrived yet, but it's a reputable seller I've done plenty business with. I'm just holding off on popping the champagne until it's literally in my short boxes.
  8. I *might* have grabbed the last issue I need to complete my 1-500 run, and let me tell you, I am excited.
  9. Yeah, mine arrived today, but as I mentioned I'm not going to be able to "review" it until Christmas, as I'm handing it over to my mom to be her gift to me this year lol.
  10. Well, mine is currently in the state, but I imagine it won't get here until Monday, since I doubt UPS will be delivering it on Sunday.
  11. I've watched reviews of them, and there's just nothing there---in my opinion---to remotely justify the additional $400 price tag. Literally the only difference is the smaller print run, a slightly fancier book mark, and a mildly different cover treatment, all of which are pretty clearly laid out in the listings for them. There's no additional content, like scans of original art or interviews, that isn't included in the standard edition, which is itself a limited initial run of 5000 copies.
  12. I may receive it earlier, but I'm not allowed to open it until Christmas, lol. Despite being a full-grown adult, my mom insists my brothers and I request at least one item she can wrap as a gift, and it seemed like a fine candidate. I can certainly vouch for the quality of Spider-Man and Avengers, though. I can't imagine FF will not meet the standard they've set.
  13. Well, I ordered mine directly from Taschen and have been provided a shipment number and carrier. Just waiting for it to be sent out.
  14. lmao right? It honestly never ceases to amaze me that anything from the Silver Age or earlier can approach those grades.
  15. I'm still very surprised at the choice of green for the spine. I know it's keying off of the monster, but if ever there was a series that warranted a blue spine, FF is it.
  16. Too bad as in too bad that you'd have to get the Tales to Astonish content as well? Because I meant it'd be a combined book, like how AF15 is the first story in ASM Vol. 1. I figure Hulk Vol. 1 would be Hulk 1-6 and then the first 14 appearances in Tales or something. Or, Tales to Astonish Vol.1 simply contains the first 6 issues of Hulk. That's a tough one, because as mentioned before, I really hope the Tales books are presented completely, rather than being split up by character, but I'm not entirely sure how that would square with the first 6 Hulks.
  17. I imagine if they do Hulk, they'll do 1-6 and then roll it into Astonish. I highly doubt they'd put out a 100 page book amidst a line of 700 pagers.
  18. Man, I am so bad at this. Thanks for the info, though!
  19. I've got a chance to grab a 48 3.5 OW/W and 49 3.5 C/OW for $2000 total. Is that a good price? Both Universal label.
  20. Just received my package! Communication was great, price was fair, grades were accurate. Very happy with my purchase!
  21. I enjoy the cover as well. And it's the last one by sheer happenstance. I owned a copy years ago but have since sold it, and had my eye on a number of copies at NYCC but by the time I circled back on Sunday to pull the trigger, they'd all sold, so I snagged a well-priced 129 instead, which I was rather certain would be the final piece I'd pick up.
  22. They explicitly mention Captain America among the initial titles announced, but I don't recall the press release specifying whether it was GA or SA. I was hoping it was GA, as if it were SA I'd imagine it meant that they were splitting ToS into two separate volumes (one for Cap, one for Iron Man). As for release date on FF, I actually messaged Taschen directly the other day and was told the standard edition is expected to ship out around Nov. 28th. I'm not sure regarding the limited edition, as they were only responding to info on my order, and I'm not flush enough to be committing $600 for a single book when that same amount can get me the entire year's worth of releases
  23. Here's a link to the video mentioned above: And here's a link to a much longer video featuring Tom Scioli of Cartoonist Kayfabe fame that's nearly twice as long. I'm not watching either, personally, because I just want my copy to arrive (To be clear: Tom's an incredibly talented cartoonist and is known for more than just appearing on CK, but you get it)
