  1. I agree; I would like to like it but ... Edit: Having visited the BC website, I note that the print run for the virgin cover of this comic book is 1500, up from, I believe, the always standard BC 1000 run, and the price is $45.00 which is an increase, if I recall correctly, from $30, $35, and $40 for BC's virgin covers over, roughly, the last two years. Of course, BC can print as many copies and charge per copy as it wishes. Action #1000 Dell 'Otto Virgin Variant $45.00 Add to Cart The monumental issue painted by perhaps the grandest cover artist of our generation, Gabriele Dell'Otto! Bulletproof is proud to present Action #1000 Limited to 1500 print run. Note: Pre-sale will begin on Tuesday , March 13th @ Noon EST. This book cannot be ordered till then.
  2. It does not matter how frequently Dell'Otto draws Superman, it is just that, to restate, unfortunately, I just find this work to be blah.
  3. Unfortunately, I find it very blah compared to much of his other work.
  4. Appears so. Oh, well, another blow to my early retirement plans.
  5. Based on many posts that I have seen from the op, they have, arguably, an obsession with "race/gender." Op, take that as you will. Edit: I forgot to mention that I was raised in Weehawken, NJ.
  6. Edit: refer to my comment below. I will only add, yes, yes indeed, ComicXposure ... I was "exposed" to "it."
  7. Come to think of it, I likely have at least 5 copies of A S-M 396. Perhaps I can pay people to take those off my hands.
  8. Pat, Yes, A S-M 396 was certainly a dump; although all of the "new" A-S-M, 789>, very likely are.
  9. Yes, it seems that Amazing Spider-Man 797 will be the first Red Goblin. Amazing Spider-Man 796 is a fizzle in that respect; well except for those folks spending quite a bit to purchase copies of it on eBay or otherwise.
  10. Yes, I also received a few, very few, NM/M / 9.8 and NM+ / 9.6 copies from JSC.com. But, unfortunately, far more were the grades that I listed previously. When I contacted them about the books I was always informed that most of the books had the same damage, it was blamed on Marvel Comics' printing. Yet, on eBay, for example; although, arguably, a skewed sample as most folks may list only the best copies that they own; I would find a great many examples of copies that did not have the damage that my copies had. Accordingly, it was clear that for whatever reason I was sent among the most damaged copies that JSC.com had available. After my purchase of I forget which cover, as I was buying a JSC cover, I got off the JSC train never to board again outside of the "regular variants."
  11. I stopped purchasing Campbell covers over a year ago as not only were the copies I received from J Scott Campbell.com frequently VF/NM / 9.0 to NM- / 9.2 (sometimes VF / 8.0) including replacement copies, but the few extra copies that I purchased to sell, to cover my purchase costs, never sold; I keep them all in a visible pile to remind me to avoid purchasing Campbell covers unless they are the "cheap" variant covers.
  12. Pat, doing well and I hope that you and your family are also doing well. Okay, no price increase for WWBN 32. I purchased my second copy, CGC graded at VF/8.0 in around 1982 for, at most, $5. I'll check my "log" to see if I wrote it down. I gave the copy that I purchased off the newsstand to one of my cousins as a birthday gift when we were both kids; who knew. Since the first price spike for this book we'll talk about it and laugh. Of course, I also cry ; nah, we have always been very close and he enjoyed the heck out of the book.
  13. I was always posting non-stop, now I barely post.
  14. I believe that BP's DNM #6 goes on sale on Thursday, February 15, 2018.
  15. That, in the words of a very wise individual, truly sucks.
  16. Unfortunately, I did not do a search for a ComicXposure thread on the board prior to my rather recent exposure to this so-called store. Thus, I will note that having dealt with ComicXposure once, is once too often. Further, I would, repeat, would say that it lacks customer service but that would be too kind; it would not know customer service if it was cohabitating with customer service.
