I passed on a ToD #2 9.8 some 9 years ago, and finally got another chance - and got it Well got it for about 3 times the previous price Currently there are only 5 9.8 copies in the Census and none better: Back then I passed on ToD #10 9.8 too, when it sold for nearly 2k - looking back there are indeed a few choices I do regret, lol.

Slightly double posting here - but maybe a good thing to bump this thread. Just got a new book and went to work Started by getting rid of all fingerprints. Nothing worse than fingerprints on the CGC holder, and who knows how many (Covid19-infected) hands touched the holder (Ok, just joking about the Covid19 - I think... ). Getting out the stuff: One bag of Gerber Mylites2 (Mylar 914M2 bag) coming up: Got two bags, not easy to pull out one - and book goes in - no fingerprints Now sealing the dam* thing is quite a hassle too - can't just use normal acidic tape - but of course have to use some clear double-sided archival tape, also from Gerber: - and pulling off the paper protection from the archival tape, the Mylar bag is now ready to be sealed: - and the final result: Did 16 more books while having the Mylar stuff out, including these books:

Thanks, my favorite might be 0719351006 - and the one selling on HA a few months ago (3861224003). Then again, some may have flaws hard to see on low-res photos, and of course none were graded 9.9... EDIT: Just added the HA mag to my previous post :-)

There may be many things to consider buying a new mag like this - if you're able to find one - personally I like if the cover isn't too misaligned (thus horizontal lines across the cover should be horizontal, not going up or down), and the red ink should pop to some degree (indicating that the cover hasn't been exposed to too much light) and I like sharp corners with no visible defects - and I like a clean white back. Once I did monitor new ST #1 9.8 mags - but gave up some years ago. I still have these images - as you can see, 1055066001 was graded some time ago (April 4 2011) and still looks much the same: 0079322004 0085606011 0341165001 0719351001 (My mag) 0719351006 1005796001: 1055066001 (on CLink now, image taken in 2011 - 2012, been on my hard-drive at least since May 2012): The new image on CLink for comparison: 1261133001 3861224003

I would not consider it a flaw, pretty sure CGC doesn't either - it's just how these mags were made.

Thanks, but could you check up on #1 again - I think an error happened?? Thus #1 is the Astonishing Tales book with the biggest price jump, but for 9.8 suddenly points were reduced from 800 to 720 - makes little sense to me :-) The book recently sold for 5k. Sorry about that, I probably didn't save the last adjustment I made. should be adjusted now. Thanks for letting me know.

This mag also just made a jump - the score in the Registry is much less ;-) The sale is confirmed by GPAnalysis. 9.6 is selling for 5k these days - and 9.0 for 2k. Score adjusted to fall in line with average for 9.6

Does seem like something just .... happened This might be my favorite mag. I do remember getting my first ST #1 9.6 mag - from a dude in Canada. It was a true treasure - back then I was kinda ecstatic getting that book. Of course it was not similar to holding my firstborn son for the first time, or was it? At 9.6 these mags are selling for 5k now - and 2k for 9.0. They grow up so fast...

Thanks for the kind words, I got mine about 5 years ago for close to 1k - back then there were just 4 copies. Today there're 8 books in the CGC Census. Took me years to find a copy - many covers had too much misalignment, and I only wanted a copy with pure white pages. Now with 8 copies, it seems you can find these books everywhere ;-)

Btw, in case you need some more info about Astonishing Tales: Lastest sale - it's only 560 points in the Registry. It's only 340 points in the Registy. This is issue 6 - but CGC 9.4, not 9.8: So that's only 130 points for $1k.

In some years that may considered cheap, - and it's already registered: - but only 2 sales since 2013, most probably happen on Comiclink and they aren't part of the GPAnalysis registry, sadly.

Astonishing Tales #1 9.8 just sold for nearly $ 5,000 - but it has not been updated for years if ever - it's only 560 points. Could you look into Astonishing Tales #1 to #10? Best, Rune Astonishing Tales #s 1,2,3,4,6,7,8 adjusted #s 5,9,10 not adjusted as sales data falls in line with current scores.

If I knew it would take close to 15 years, not sure I'd have started - then again, of course I would :-)

In the 1980s maybe Today it seems prices have changed, slightly... I do have a 9.6 too - just for back-up And a 9.0 (my old reading copy, but never read it anyway, so sent it to CGC - 9.0 sells for 2k these days)

Had a hole in my heart for years, but now - after more than 10 years - it's fixed For the first time since CGC was established, Savage Tales #11 has been found in 9.8. Previously 9.6 was the highest grade. For now there are two #11 mags in 9.8, and I just got this one: This also means that my Savage Tales set is complete - all mags are now 9.8. I don't expect any 9.9 mags to be found

Some prices Conan #1 CGC 9.6 now sells for the old 9.8 price :-) So 5K for a 9.6: - and everybody loves Sonja :-) Seems prices are exploding within the last 3 months or so. Issue 2 going strong too - but since 9.8 is extremely scarce, 9.6 shows the trend: - and issue 3: So we're getting that Netflix Conan show Btw, selling Conan books is like selling your kids, of course no sane person would do that - thus the above is just for the curiosity

Btw, just checked GPAnalysis, CoB #1 9.6 now sells for 5k, #23 9.8 recently sold for 6k (HA.com) and #23 9.6 have sold for 2k, so the Comiclink prices do not stand alone. CoB #24 also got a nice boost, but the first Sonja still takes the lead... Many CoB #1-24 9.8 are so rare that we can't see new price trends, thus easier checking 9.6 grades and here some trends are quite strong. I can post some pics later.
