  1. I won't even attempt that series until all the books are out. I read the first two books when they came out and they were awesome! However, by the time the third one was released, I lost track of EVERYTHING. I decided not to pick it up again until the series concludes.
  2. I never read this thread until after I am caught up. That's just me. Sure there are spoiler tags there but you are just asking for trouble if you count on other people to keep secrets. This thread is horrible for discussion anyway. Go to the Image Forums for actual insights to the book. Most of the time, this thread seems to just be used to show off collections, talk about the latest news, and various other things. It is almost never about what is going on in the comic. And when people start talking about the comic, the spoiler tag police come out in full force and derail the discussion. http://imagecomics.com/messageboard/viewforum.php?f=2&sid=db78d44ab067ceb3a14327f344578175
  3. I'm protesting against the weekly. Got issue 80 though! Can't wait to read it. Then I will be at TWO comics for the year!
  4. other pages for those who can't wait for tomorrow http://comicsmedia.ign.com/comics/image/article/114/1142440/the-walking-dead-20110103051733759.jpg http://comicsmedia.ign.com/comics/image/article/114/1142440/the-walking-dead-20110103051325156.jpg http://comicsmedia.ign.com/comics/image/article/114/1142440/the-walking-dead-20110103051408328.jpg http://comicsmedia.ign.com/comics/image/article/114/1142440/the-walking-dead-20110103051425749.jpg http://comicsmedia.ign.com/comics/image/article/114/1142440/the-walking-dead-20110103051438265.jpg Cool but...
  5. No way. They need to make him do more mean stuff so the audience REALLY hates him. They have to work their way back up to that because with the way that episode opened it really explained that he really believed Rick was dead and then had no choice but to leave him. Also, the way he left him, to protect his body...all positives. I like that they aren't making him just a villain, really showing the entire character. I agree with you on this. I haven't been liking the show much. Too cookie cutter for my taste but at least they're trying to flesh him out.

  7. You think Amy's death was handled well? I thought it was waaaay too dramatic. How did she know she wasn't going to be strong enough to just bite her face? Why would everyone else just let her act all crazy like that with a walker in the camp. That was a huge threat. Amy could have bitten Andrea and then you would have two zombies in the camp! I will agree with you about the "insipid" comment even though I had to grab a dictionary first. Perhaps by "handled pretty well," I just meant I was relieved I'd never have to sit through some dumb, contrived scene between the two sisters again. But yes, my girlfriend and I were almost shouting at the screen for Andrea to shoot Amy ("do it now, for fork's sake!"). Also, was it just me or does it seem like it takes forever for people to become walkers? It seemed like it had to be hours before Amy changed. Anyone remember any examples of people turning in the book? I don't recall it taking that long for the transformation. It doesn't take long at all in the book. Once you die, the transformation happens rapidly. However, you can "live" for a while if you are bitten int he leg or arm or something. You're still doomed unless Rick can get to you in time to cut off the infected area quickly though.
  8. I'm kinda liking the CDC thing just because it is more of a departure from the comic. That makes it more acceptable to me. I find that in each episode, I become less anal about the show veering away from the comic. I believe that the further the show moves from the comic, the more I will be able to accept it based on its own merit.

  10. The most shocking thing in this book was in the letters page. That one guy's tattoo! Whoa.
  11. This is what Maloney said. I am still very unhappy at the mere thought of Tyrese not being in the show. Ah, good to see everyone's on the ball here. I obviously haven't read the entire thread. I'm starting to warm to more of the characters now that I've seen #3. I still need to stop asking myself who this or that character is supposed to be and trying to remember the early stories of the comic. It's getting in the way of enjoying the show for what it is. I agree. I probably would like the show better if I hadn't read the comic first. Then again, I would probably never even have given the show a chance if it wasn't for the comic.

  13. I don't remember it being so blatant as this show... I also don't remember the characters from Lost being so one dimensional @ characters being one dimensional when the show is only 3 episodes in, and most characters have had about 5 mins screen time. C'MON MAN!! One guy yells and screams in the middle of zombieland because he is a racist. It was jarring. The whole time that happened I couldn't believe it. It was too jarring. Then Ed beats his wife... In front of people? For what? Just because he is a bad guy? Yeah, I call it poor character development. These two incidents were too jarring. Like I said, I can suspend disbelief with the zombies but this took me right out of the story. 3 episodes in and I have a good idea about some of the other characters. Some are one dimensional or stereotypical (like Glenn- aka Short Round) but they are also believable.
  14. I sent him an email with a link to this thread. He deserves to know how his attitude can have ramifications down the road. By the way, he won't sue. It would cost him too much and he would never win. We can criticize his art. It is a free country. The OP is just letting us know what we can expect when we deal with him.
