  1. Lots of "deals" to be had from early Feb. But if you bought last year, you are still solid https://www.psacard.com/auctionprices/basketball-cards/1986-fleer/michael-jordan/values/299576#g=10
  2. A lot (most all) of high end PSA Jordan cards have already lost around half value (or more) from Feb. I don't see the trend stopping anytime soon. If you bought a Jordan PSA 9 Rookie the first week of Feb you paid 80K, this week one sold for 26K
  3. I don't see submissions having any effect on the market either way right now when the fever has hit. Population counts of 500 or 5000+ doesn't seem to make much of a difference with this madness. A 500K card a 30K wax box or a 10K X-Men comic, I don't think it matters. They can all ride the roller-coaster just as easy.
  4. Caps-a-holic has some great comparisons https://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?go=1&a=0&d1=15714&d2=15713&s1=165811&s2=165807&i=6&l=0 hdnumerique as well https://www.hdnumerique.com/dossiers/906-test-4k-ultra-hd-blu-ray-batman-superman-2021.html
  5. I've personally seen (or know about) many cases where in fact this very thing happens. Not Action 1 but numerous other high priced and rare books/collectibles from the 40's and earlier. Not sure if there are a total of 200+ but I'm certain there are more to be found in Grandma and Great-Grandpas basement. Usually its not that they have zero idea, its that they were cleaning things out because someone is moving, or has died. And they saved a lot of older stuff they didn't realize/forgot they had.
  6. A lot of these prices are going way up because of the new money moving into the market from sports and non-sports cards. But I would be very careful when you look at the very recent history of many of these collectibles that went crazy as investors move from one collectible into the next mkt. with little nostalgia tied to the object. Many key sports cards like M. Jordan or top non-sports cards like Luke Skywalker, Shadowless Charizard, etc have had drastic drops in value. Numerous non-sport unopened wax boxes like Marvel Universe and Star Wars 1977 blue have seen prices cut in half or more in the last month. Prices haven't fallen to pre-covid levels, but if you bought some of the top cards in these hobbies at top peak insanity in Feb, you lost big time. Some of these cards and boxes have quick drops in the 10's and hundreds of thousands of dollars. I see no reason why not to suspect it will happen with some comics like X-Men 1, or ASM 300, or Hulk 181 next. As for Golden age Caps, I haven't seen any of the sports card insanity moving into that area quickly and massively jacking up prices. So I don't necessarily see a big drop either
  7. Its because the Oakland 227 9.8 copy sold earlier this week for 33.6K
  8. I'm still doing a lot of buying and selling. (More selling.) Never been a huge buyer from the auction houses so not really concerned there. But there are a lot of VERY poor investments out there to avoid. Guessing there will be some huge corrections/drops the same way many key sports/non-sports cards have been doing since Feb. and March. I think you will see many Silver age/Bronze age books dropping just as hard as some of the as the Copper and Modern. If it follows the card mkt. you will see various books values cut in half or more.
  9. Having met him in person a couple times years ago I thought he was a bit of a jerk, so did my friends who had drinks with him. I get why people don't like him. In person he can be a huge braggart. I also didn't think Liefield is always as bad as people say. Certainly not worth dwelling on like some do. I think there are far worse out there.
  10. I was under the impression Varma was playing Duchess Satine
  11. I posted a few pics here in this thread, (Page 3) but I've found a couple Superman 1's, All Star 8, an X-Men 1 in VF (Graded later as an CGC 8.0) Archie 1, All American 61 in VF, dozens of Timelys most every Silver age key at one time of another from peoples homes or deals in parking lots. I attached a couple pics also.
  12. I've been lucky and had some amazing comics in my hands over the years. But Action 1 with a cover still attached is my grail book. You never know, I've come across some crazy stuff over the years. (fingers crossed)
  13. Personally I would stay far away from that book and a few others. If you like Venom, I would look into another Venom book that you like or a much lower grade copy. But if 4K isn't too much to you, and don't mind that there is a very good chance you might lose money in the next couple years then go for it.
  14. Paid a thousand for a collection of about a thousand books. Mostly 90's drek. He had a lot of Wolverine. Best of all he had this one. Around 7.0 maybe 7.5
  15. Another solid building episode. Curious to see how the J. Walker story shakes out. Cap 341 will get a bump for certain and Cap 334. Maybe a little bump on Truth Red White and Black as well.
  16. https://www.ebay.com/itm/STAR-WARS-1-CGC-9-8-WHITE-PAGES-1977/274720529818?hash=item3ff69e9d9a:g:BiYAAOSwhvpgTrPP That's over 7.5K with tax.
  17. You guys got me to go back and read Web 18. Interesting, I had long forgotten about that story. I still like Silvestri's style. Holds up.
