So, the images type I received from CGC have changed to JFIF, and the boards won't accept that type. I've spent the last few hours getting the images ready for tonight's reveal. I'll be back early evening with an update on the number of people that have submitted their grades then, we will do the reveal at 8:00.

Grades are due by Thurdsay February 10 8:00 PM Eastern time. Good luck! The reveal of the actual CGC grades will be posted shortly after the round is closed, with scans of the books in their CGC holders. The scoring results most likely won't be available until the following day, and the next round will start shortly after that. Click on the image 2 times, and you will be able to use zoom to make the images larger. Because the contest involves only scans, books were chosen with defects present only on the covers; there are no significant defects to the interior pages or interior cover, such as tape, missing parts or brittle pages. No restoration is present either. All defects relevant to the grade should be visible in the scans. If there is a defect that is not visible, we will try to provide a graders note. Please copy this list of books and paste it into our PM, then post your grades on the same line. Hello Welcome to CGC's first grading contest. Here are the rules. Please read them carefully. There will be four rounds—the first three rounds of 5 books each, then a final round of 5 books for those who score in the top ten. After the deadline for the signup thread has ended, I will start a new thread in the hey buddy can you spare a grade section, scans of the first 5 books will be posted, and I will start a PM thread between myself and each participant. Be sure to use THIS PM thread to submit your grades every round. I will post a list for the books with each round. Please copy and paste that list into our PM, and add the grades for each book. Only CGC grades (numerical) will be accepted. Non CGC grades like fine+ or Very fine- will not be accepted. You will have 3 days to get your grades in. After I record your grades, I will reply to the PM thread so you know that your grades have been recorded. Please do not bump the PM for any reason other than submitting your grades. Nobody will be allowed to change their grades. Do not discuss your grades with others until the round is closed. Also, please do not ask any questions about the books publicly or privately. If I am provided any special notes from CGC, I will share them in the thread. Due to the scoring format, if anyone fails to submit their grades for a round, their participation in the contest will be terminated. After the 3 days are up and the round is closed, I will post scans of the books in CGC holders to reveal their grades, and a new thread will be started to show the results of each participant. Then, there will be a new thread started for the next round. After the third round, The participants who score in the top ten will qualify for the final round, which will begin shortly thereafter. Scans of the last five books will be posted, and the participants of the final round will have 3 days to PM their grades to me. At the end of 3 days, the final grades and scores will be posted, and the winner revealed. If all participants submit their grades sooner than 3 days, the round will close early. If more than 10 people finish in the top ten, tiebreaker round(s) will take place to determine who the top 10 contestants will be. If there is a tie between the top 10 in the final (4th) round, there will be a tiebreaker round to determine the picking order for the prizes. 0 points is the best score one can achieve. 1 point will be added to your score for each grade that is higher or lower than the actual grade. If the actual grade for the book is 5.0 and you guess 4.0, your score for that book is 2. If the actual grade for the book is 5.0 and you guess 6.0, your score for that book is 2. If the actual grade for the book is 5.0 and you guess 5.0, your score for that book is 0. CGC will be donating $500 of free grading credit to the pool of prizes. Other donations are welcome and appreciated. I will start a prize thread. The first place winner will get first pick, second place winner will get second pick, and it will continue down the line for the ten finalists, until all prizes have been chosen. If there are more than 10 prizes, the prize picking will start over with the first place winner making a second pick, and continue down the line again until all prizes have been chosen. Unless specified differently, it will be assumed that your donation includes shipping regardless of where the recipient lives. Here is the prize thread in case you would like to donate a prize.

This round closed Sunday night 8:00 PM eastern time. I will reveal the actual grades of these books in their holders shortly after that. The results for this round will be posted the next day, and round 2 will most likely start Monday night. If I get 150 PM's with grades the last minute, it will cause a delay. If not, things will happen a little sooner.

Not for this contest. -
Do these count as print errors?
CGC Mike replied to Mitchgomm's topic in CGC Cards General Discussion
Hello We believe that both of these examples are too minor for an error. Mike -
Yes. You can submit on any tier, and just select the No Holo Error Variant. Mike
-
Hello There isn't an extra $5 fee for that one as we do it as a free variant. Mike

I thought I was pretty clear with the rules but, apparently not. Please use the PM I sent you to post your grades. If I get a separate PM, I will not be recording the grades. That means I have to check to see if the person is an actual participant. For this to work smoothly, that rule needs to be followed.
