  1. Last one.... This book is closer to 9.8 than it is to 9.6 in my opinion. Colors are very rich on this one. Always liked how the soldier's arms are starting to decentigrate due to the Ray gun blast.
  2. This scan is a bit pixelated, but the colors in person are very bright and strong.
  3. One more for now........ I love the teeth on the main spider.
  4. Here is #8, and point five is spot on....it is a scorcher. Best 8 I've seen.
  5. By request, I'll try and post a handful of Planets throughout the day. Always fun to share. Here is Planet 5, Overstreet notes Rare and I agree.
  6. This is Fiction House related, I just received this very nice trophy in the mail today. The CGC Registry is an extra added level of fun to a collection. CGC is a couple steps ahead of other certification companies( baseball cards, coins, etc.) in the way it relates to it's demographic. One example is evidenced in their registry awards. To keep it even more relavent to this thread, I sat my favorite Planet right next to it.
  7. I think that's an icepick. IIRC, Kaanga and Ann were about to sit down for cocktails afer a long day of slaying evil slave traders when the gorilla burst in causing Kaanga to accidentally pour way too much vermouth into the gin, thus ruining the entire pitcher of Martinis. Kaanga grabbed the ice pick to exact the appropriate revenge. It's a lesser-known plot device for Jungle Comics, but a classic nonetheless. You are mistaken because Marguarittas are the appropriate drink after a hot day in the Jungle. Who would need an ice pick when they were making martinis? You must be getting it mixed up with the time Kaanga threw a jar of pickled onions in the gorilla's eyes and they then fought it out with those little tiny plastic swords. Classic story. Your both missing the obvious - clearly it depicts a log rolling contest, the ape is throwing his arms up in celebration of a hard fought victory. That Kaanga guy is just being a sore loser! If I could read his thoughts I'm guessing he'd be saying "No mere ape can defeat the mighty Kaanga at log rolling and be allowed to live! My trusty ice pick will ensure that this one never log rolls again!" This is some of the best heated debate discussion I have ever seen over a purple label book. P.S. It is a pretty book but......... My vote is for ice pick.
  8. Just received this one in the mail today, has a Zolnerowich cover. Beautiful rich colors on this one. Did I mention it has a Zolnerowich cover? Love Zolnerowich covers!!
  9. Welcome to the club!!! Love the colors on the 29
  10. nice pickup!! (thumbs u I've been looking for a 30 for a while now with no luck. Glad you scored a very nice looking book.
  11. That makes sense, I guess you could go either way across a pond.
  12. Nice books. Where from "across the pond" did you find those?
  13. It did win for best presented. Thanks for the nice words. I am very excited about that honor. The registry is a fun way to show your collection, talk about each issue, and share stories about the people you meet while obtaining your books. It's a bonus to win a prize/award for something you love doing. (thumbs u
  14. Another Planet off the list. I don't know about what other Planet collectors think, but I think that 12-20 are all tough to find with an extra level of "tough" to 13,14,15, and 17. Ultimately 15 is the toughest of all. Anyway, I digress to this Planet #17. I was super excited to not only find a #17, but it is in great condition with only two graded higher ( a 9.4 I will never ever see and an 8.0). This one is no where near as red as Parkers copy, but I will definitely cherish my copy. Also on a seperate note.......man I love Zolnerowich covers!!
  15. Wow, that is really cool. Thanks for sharing. (thumbs u
  16. Planet Comics #15 is very tough, Nice book!!

  19. That is one Beautiful Pic. You going for all the rivets or just 1-10?
  20. Just received this one in the mail from the last Heritage auction. I put the picture in the duck thread, but thought it would go nicely here too. I think the "Long billed" Donald is super cool.
  21. I hope this "counts" for all you duck fans. I just received this one in the mail today, was purchased from the last Heritage auction. I have been looking for this particular issue for a couple years now since I spotted one for sale on Metropolis webasite. I paid alot less for this one than what Metropolis is asking and in my opinion, this one is just as nice. Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention that I like the "long billed" donald. Any other "long billed" Donald fans?
  22. Would have liked to have been a fly on the wall when Steve was looking at them. not me, I hear the Dr carries a big rolled up newspaper with him It's actually his undercopy of Action #1. He keeps it rolled up in his back pocket.
  23. Nice books. I've said this before and I'll say it again......... Zolnerowich
