  1. 50 years ago somebody said holy that's a fantastic cover, I'm taking care of this. And they did a great job, what a copy. Everyone who owned this loved it and took great care of it.
  2. Another bump before this goes off to Clink
  3. Hey all... I've been a boardie since 2008 but this is my first or second time selling here. My username on eBay is mackenzie999, perfect feedback although I don't do much selling there, and nothing of this caliber. If you're on any naughty lists here please move along. Shipping: $15 anywhere in the US At cost to wherever you are internationally Local pickup available (willing to drive 90 minutes or so from Cranston, RI to facilitate). Payment: Apple Pay, Paypal, Zelle, wire transfer, check (must clear first), money order. Returns: No returns on slabbed books. Ok, enough of all that, on to the good stuff! Tales of Suspense 39 CGC 4.0 CR/OW GPA 90-day on this is $11,100. Let's go $500 under and say $10,600 I purchased this book here from Timmay around 2009 or so. Presents great for the grade, I believe there are a couple of small tears (hard to be sure through the slab but they look like tears) near his wrist and ankle. Decent centering, you get some blue floor and half of the righthand quote mark. Slab is in good shape, no chips or cracks. I do not know the pressing history other than I have not had it done. More Tales of Suspense: This is the first step in liquidating my collection; the rest will probably end up on CLINK, but I do have a number of other Tales of Suspense issues that could be worked into this deal. Several issue between 40-58 slabbed, as well as 60-up raw mid grades. Let me know if you have specific wants. Thanks for looking (and apologies for image quality) -Mike
  4. Thanks for the advice everyone, I'm leaning towards selling my better books here. Possibly as soon as this weekend, but we'll see. I was partly holding off because someone else was selling some of the same books I have, but those have cleared out.
  5. Hey everyone... I've been pretty inactive going on several years now, but a rather large and pressing bill (I have six months to pay) has come up and I think it's finally time to cash out the collection. It's a modest collection, probably $10-15K give or take, highlights being a ToS39 4.0, Avengers 4 4.5, and maybe half a short box full of other Marvel silver worth a few hundred each, mostly all CGC'd. Nothing major but decent stuff for the most part. So I have a couple of questions, mostly of a speculative nature. 1. Is now a terrible time to sell? During covid my ToS39 was selling around $17K but has since dropped significantly it seems. I don't have too much choice here but if it seems like it really is a very bad time I might be able to pursue other options. 2. What would be the best/easiest venue to unload my books? I don't want to deal with individual shipping, returns, shennanigans, etc, so I'm currently considering Heritage, ComicLink, mycomicshop.com, but I have no experience with any of these in either buyer or seller capacity. Perhaps there's a better option I haven't listed that fits my criteria? I'm not in a major rush but would like to have some cash in hand within a few months if possible, but I'd rather not leave money on the table by having a fire-sale. Any other advice or suggestions is greatly appreciated!
  6. Hey all...this took awhile but the results are in, my Silver Surfer 4 came in at 6.5 w/ow. I did not press or clean. Thanks for all who participated!
  7. Hey all...this took awhile but the results are in, my X-Men 94 came in at 5.0/White. Thanks for all who participated!
  8. Hi everyone… I haven’t been very active here for maybe a decade so I’m having a hard time recalling some info, and getting nowhere with search. Is there still someone here who does Repro covers? Joeypost maybe? I forget who but I thought there was someone here that was good for this kind of work. Thanks!
  9. I believe you have to close this out here if you're offering it for sale elsewhere. Good luck, I hope you get your asking price.
  10. Hey all… Still preparing to sell off the collection. Just took advantage of CGC’s $99 special, so I’ll be sending off three books for grading. Pretty sure it will be XM94 and SS4, but am on the fence about the 3rd. Leaning towards ST101 or maybe JIM89. Opinions? Thanks!
  11. How has demand been? I realize price is generally determined by supply/demand, but as I'm preparing to sell off my collection of SA Marvel keys, I'm a little disheartened to see a couple of sales threads here with books very similar to my own not really generating any action. For example there are two mid-grade ToS 39s available right now; in the past it seemed like those would get scooped right up, but now they just sit in their threads, unmoving.
  12. They are simply being patriots, they want comics to be affordable to all so they make them less expensive.
  13. That's a solid smurf-point-smurf, maybe a little higher with a press.
  14. What's going on under the C in cement? Just a smudge or something else?
  15. That's a tough one to answer, some people love sigs, some not so much. I have a few that I got myself, but I wouldn't pay extra for a book with one unless it was really hard to find otherwise. I do feel like lower grade books are better candidates, you're not ruining (in the eyes of some) an HG book, and you are taking a lesser book and making it a little special. I'm guessing the price difference would be in line with what you paid for the sig., unless it's some notoriously difficult person.
  16. Politics aside, thank you everyone for all the advice, I really appreciate all the helpful suggestions.
  17. I love the boards, have been a member since '08 and plan on selling it all here. And the PGM guys have been really great and pretty consistent with each other's estimates.
  18. Hey everyone... I recently bought a house that needs a lot of work, so it looks like time to cash in the collection. It's not huge, mostly CGC keys (top books are ToS39, AV 4, FF2, plus some lesser keys). Anyway, I have a dozen or so mostly mid-to -lower grade raw books that I've put up in the PGM section, with most estimates being within half a point of each other. I'm not a dealer, it's been years since I've even bought anything so I'm pretty clueless about pricing these days. Slabs are easy, when I'm ready I'll subscribe to GPA and start from there, but I'm a little bit at a loss on the raws. Let's say a book is about a 5.0 raw, how would I price that? I know slabs add value, so I'm guessing some percentage of GPA is the way to go. I've never really trusted Ebay for grading so completed sales of raw books isn't reliable in my opinion. Back when I was way more active (mid-1970s) Overstreet was kind of iffy. It's not a huge deal because I don't have a ton of raws and only a couple of them would be over $100, but I'd like my prices to be both as attractive and profitable as possible (house needs a lot of work. A month after buying it a tree fell on it, among other things). Another question I have is tax. Do I report all sales, is there a threshold under which I don't need to, am I a sucker if I do or a criminal if I don't, etc. It'll probably be a month or so before my sale gets rolling, just taking advantage of some downtime to get ahead. Thanks for any and all suggestions!
  19. Hi everyone... Recently purchased a home that needs a lot of work, so it's time to dump the collection. Most are CGC keys, but I have a handful of raws that I could use a hand grading and will be posting them over the next few days. Please forgive the cropped interior scans, I'm not trying to hide anything but almost all of them came out that way, sorry. Thank you so much for helping! Continuing with New Gods 1.

  21. Creases. And thank you for all your grading efforts, I really appreciate it!
  22. I've read the PGM guidelines and noticed it suggests a very small scan size, with the option to link to larger scans. Is this still the case? Thank you so much for helping!
