  1. they should call it “Authenticated Signature Series” or …
  2. Yeah, the more I look at it, the slab itself looks off for some reason. Corners look too rounded to me.
  3. Pulled this image off gocollect for the Iron Man/Sub-Mariner slab. Dec 2022 ebay sale. Font definitely looks different but possible reslab? Edit: slab looks off (in grendelbo's pics).
  4. Is there a pic of the slab when you looked up the notes?
  5. Looks like he also hid or updated his info (yesterday it said he was a UPS store franchise owner..not that that's relevant).
  6. Up to you if you want to block this user/seller: comixfanatic Offered a slab in the marketplace and lowers price a few days later. A forum member claims it at a lower price. The forum member appears to try to reach out after the sale and subsequently finds the slab sold on ebay for the original price on the same day it was claimed here. Turtlemania Special #1 -1986 Metropolis CGC 4.0 Signed! SILVER EDITION 68/100 | eBay
  7. Probably moot since it's against the forum's marketplace rules, but I wonder where it was posted first. A bit douchey either way...
  8. No, CGC only gives the yellow label if it's witnessed by CGC (including CGC facilitators). In some cases, they do accept signed comics directly from the artist or publisher (according to CGC's sig series page). They do not verify sigs like other companies.
  9. Went to the Wayback machine and found this in a captured FAQ: Does Hero Restoration have insurance? Of course, we are insured through Collectible Insurance Services. Your comics are covered while they are here, and in transit to their destination. Upon request, we can provide a rider for high valued books that will be in our possession. Because we take great pride in the protection of your books, we have not had one incident providing services since opening to the public in 2011. But I think a few folks mentioned him posting about working on comics before then. Edit: Just found an older thread from 2009 where he was known as MasterCPU (the name makes sense now knowing he had a computer business) and folks appear to be critiquing his early attempts at pressing/restoration: Edit 2: April 2009 post where he introduces himself as a restorer (quarter of the way down from the top): Posted April 25, 2009 Hi, I am a comic book restorer and new here at the forums so I wanted to say Hi and show you a little before after of dry cleaning to get started.
  10. What happens if Mike has already filed for bankruptcy (2020)? Oregon Bankruptcy Court site indicates PACER may provide more info about cases (which I don't have a subscription to, if someone else does). Not sure if the same person: Michael David DeChellis | 6:20-BK-61600 | Court Records - UniCourt. Shows "Pending - Other Pending".
  11. Why is there a user named "Cantina201" that's separate from a "Flake Tapper" whose gmail address is "cantina201"? "Flake" even defends "Cantina201" as if separate in this thread (on page 47). (Cantina started this thread btw fwiw)
  12. Recently got a deal on a couple of books. Gene shipped immediately when he got my payment. Books were packaged securely and arrived quickly. Thanks!
  13. Reminds me of someone evading after a hit-and-run and then claiming the car was stolen during the incident after they’re found.
  14. Not sure I understand the question. Are you asking the value (you can look up previous sales on auction sites)? Are you asking your potential profit (would depend on what you paid for them)? Are you saying you arrived at CGC or are you saying you have two copies?
  15. Have to Had this one as a kid for some reason...
