  1. I never give specualtion or advice but I had no particular interest in this book for my own collection but have decided to keep a set of #1, and all issues going forward for myself. And I haven't even read an issue yet.

There is a reason, and one day it may come to light.

My advice, hold on to a set of #1s graded for yourself.

  2. Here's the deal with Revival #2 Most of the print run was damaged during shipment to dealers...blame DIAMOND.

Dealers, rather than putting these on the shelves, opted out to return them to Diamond with the anticipation that they would be replaced.

That is the source of information.

My copies all look fine. Got like 10 of them.

  3. Hey Guys,

I know, I should probably let sleeping dogs lie, but hey I'm a glutton for punishment I suppose.

First off George, thank you for cutting me some slack and defending me. Sorry for the drama this has caused.

In the future I will only post non selling information in this part of the forum, but to be fair, you all have a double standard here, and not a very nice way of educating people when they stray if they aren't in your clique.

So posting for sale info is a no no, but soliciting a board member to sell you something is OK, is that correct Brendan?

If any board member may be interested in helping out a fellow board member with selling near cost + shipping an extra copy you got let me know. I will owe you a favor and can always help in regards to getting stuff signed and Sig Series later on down the road at any midwest comic con I am at.

AND posting a for sale link to a sale is ok, as long as it isn't your own link, and it helps the board members get a deal on something, right?

Loc: Stay 9.8 thirsty my friends.

Anyone going to call Main Street Comics and see how many they have?

Their phone number is listed in their auction:

And pimping art sales is totally cool as long as it doesn't belong to Charlie Adlard, whose art some of the board members criticize now that they can't buy it cheap and resell it for 5 times what they paid.

8, 33 36 (if anyone knows who has 36 I would be interested in knowing, would love an opportunity to buy it), 38 (which I sold like an insufficiently_thoughtful_person), 55, 69, 82, and 90....

also - in other news --

I know its been a week or two - I wanted to give an update about the production art --

I spoke with John and he said he could just ship everyone whatever they wanted directly so you can actually cut me out as the middleman completely - which I am happy to be cut out of to be honest lol -- shoot him an email (he may even have other pages I didn't know about - or other artwork you are interested in..)

    watkissart[at]yahoo.com

I am going to PM this to everyone else too --- you should be able to grab the image that you wanted and let him know so he will reserve it for you!

    Jerry

OK I think I'm clear on the rules here now. Thanks

    Hugs and Kisses,

Mark Hay, yes, that guy who has spammed the board at least 1-3 times apparently if you count trying to inform people of that CGC signing opportunity.

    Since my name was mentioned...

The eBay auction I referenced was an overpriced auction with someone who listed their phone number. In no way was telling people to go buy it from the guy. I just thought it was interesting he posted his phone number.

  4. Finally came in today. And before you ask, they are all sold.

Woooo! One of them is mine :). I'd like the one in the second row 3rd from the left please.

I'll send you the one with the nice long crack.

  5. Kinda sad that the WD #101 ghost variant is already better than all the WD #100's covers combined.

btw I just sold my 1:200 WD 100 CGC 9.8 for the lowest so far. $258.00

    Happy Day!

Def learned my lesson buying moderns again on hype rather knowing the print run and eBay ended items.

Sad just to get my money back I had to get 9.8 grades and CGC fast track. lol

You got burned, sorry it happened. I got some copies for free with my 200 bulk purchases, then at a certain price, then some additional with you in SDCC so the averaging out worked well for me. I just wanted to make sure I had all my subscribers covered.

I wasn't trying to make a profit off of them.

It's one of the reasons why I sold the Comixology/Escape/1 in 200 together to them - They got a deal on the Comixology just in case the 1 in 200 Sketch dropped in price.

Stop speculating on Moderns if you can't take the heat - :baiting:

  6. You guys are all silly.

Just because something isn't chew and he's telling you to sell doesn't mean you should dump it.

Sorry Branget, but you can still buy me lunch again in Toronto next week.

The market is the market, no need to manipulate with opinions. If you like the book, buy it. If you don't like it, don't buy it.

If you want to risk it and speculate so be it.

Branget is not the smartest man on the boards, I'm not the smartest man on the boards either.

But I'll drop a FACT. I know of one Hollywood Producer/Director seeking the rights; I should know since I gave him the book weeks ago.

    Speculate that.

  7. Since someone mentioned my name...

The CGC census should be updated shortly to reflect my Revival submissions since they finally shipped from CGC earlier in the week. If the update happens it should happen overnight.

I had 11 Sketch Covers grade 9.8, 5 regular covers, and 4 variant covers as well.

I also got a couple of second prints already on-site graded this weekend but they probably won't show until the following update.

    Ends the guessing game.
