  1. I just got 3 books back from CGC. To my horror - not one, but two - came back in the dread purple label. One is Journey Into Mystery Annual 1 8.0 and the other is Marvel Superheroes 17 9.0. Both have been given the designation of Slight (C-1). JIMA 1 notes read "small amount of colour touch on cover, small amount of glue on cover". MS17 notes read "small amount of colour touch on cover". If memory serves CGC will attempt restoration on Slight restoration, I just wanted to hear some advice or examples from others. I'd post some pics, but I doubt the restoration would be noticed. Also, should I send them back in their slabs, or take them out myself while disclosing the restoration. Thanks.
  2. As far as I can tell, the biggest flaws on this are slight corner wear, and the staining on the back. Also very minor spine ticks that barely break colour. Thanks
  3. Good evening, overall I think my copy is quite nice, but the main issues are the spine stress (particularly at the staples), and the bottom of the covers. There's also the obvious colour breaking dent, but the two little chunks missing on the front and back covers seem like they might be a production error. Any opinions would be much appreciated. Thanks
  4. Hello, I was hoping to get some opinions on my copy of Marvel Superheroes 17. It is a beautiful copy with virtually no defects on the covers, but the spine has some squishing on it. I was wondering how you might think this may affect the grade. Thanks
  5. I just got my FF48 back from CGC this week. Unfortunately, it came back in the purple label. The grader's notes say it's classified as Slight C-1, and that there is a 'small amount of color touch on full top front cover'. I've read that CGC might be able to remove restoration as long as it's Slight C-1. I imagine it's not guaranteed to come back in the blue universal label, and that it may suffer from a grade drop as well. Any insight or tips would be much appreciated. Thanks. s
  6. First and foremost, I hope all CGC employees, and their friends and family stayed safe throughout the hurricane. I couldn't even imagine what such an ordeal would be like, but I'm glad to see its safe enough to reopen on Monday. Safety of the employees must always come first I shipped a few books about 3 weeks ago, including an expensive ASM 300 for Todd McFarlane to sign. The fedex site says it was delivered and signed by a CGC employee on September 16th, but are not showing in the submission tracking. I understand that the servers were down, and no employees were there the past week, but I thought the submissions would have been entered within a week after arriving on the 16th. Is it possible that closure on the building is causing this delay? Thanks
  7. Good evening. I was wondering, if anyone has a moment to spare, if you could have a look at the front and back cover of my FF48 which is currently at CGC. I would love to hear your opinions on what the potential grade might be. I only have the 2 pics but the book is complete, fully attached and unrestored as far as I can tell. My biggest concern is the chipping at the top of the front cover. Does anyone know how much that may affect the grade? Thanks
  8. Hello, I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share their opinion on my book. It's an Amazing Spider-Man 300 Newsstand Edition CGC 9.6. It has never been pressed, but unfortunately no grader's notes available. The only visible defect is the tiny tear in the lower left corner. I see no other creases, bends, or spine stress that break colour. The scuff marks you see are on the slab. Do you think it would be worth sending in for pressing for a possible grade bump?
  9. Uncle Satan, yes I would like a regrade after pressing. The slab is scuffed up, and deters from the value in my mind. It's a Thor 165 in a 9.0. To be more specific, I was wondering if I could just send it in it's current slab, have CGC take it out, press/grade and then obviously reslab.
  10. I am about to send a few books into the reholder tier. One of them I would like to have pressed. Can I send this book in it's current slab, or do I need to take it out? Thanks
  11. I'm considering submitting a comic that is overall in decent shape and presents well, but unfortunately has a small corner piece on the back cover that has been taped back on. The taping was done from the inside of the cover, if that makes any difference at all. I'm wondering how many grade points may be taken off for that, and would this be considered restoration? Thanks
  12. Hi, I'm fairly new to the CGC process, but so far I've been extremely pleased with the turnaround times for the first few books I've had graded. I'm curious about the reholder tier. I have a book that's graded 9.8 by CBCS, but would prefer it to be graded by CGC. I was wondering if I can send it in its current slab, or do I need to take it out myself? If so, do I send it through the reholder tier? Thanks
