  1. Yeah, that was me who posted the link for you. I live in Switzerland and it plays fine for me... Tried re-uploading but got blocked, restricted due to a copyright claim. Marrakesh Express plays at the start of the segment, so maybe Crosby, Stills, and Nash are to blame.
  2. Hello fellow underground comix lovers. Have to post about this unbelievable video that just poped up on YouTube... German Zap documentary from 1971... I highly recommend you check it out. Great candor from Crumb, Spain, and Shelton.
  3. Thanks for the grade. I got it years ago in a package deal for what I think was less than a dollar, so unfortunately not a good indicator for current pricing. Just out of curiosity, what is your LCS asking? Anyone else care to chime in on the grade of this book?
  4. Thank you in advance for your thoughts!
  5. Still, a nice score on that $90 lot, some stuff you don't see everyday in there!
  6. I'm not sure that a person interested in buying these types of books would necessarily be deterred by a green label. That being said, I also don't think that such buyers are willing to pay more because the book is in a slab. Your conclusion about double covers rings true.
  7. Yes, it's a sharp copy! Just be aware that if you do submit it to be graded, CGC will not only note the missing color, but will almost certainly return the book with a green label.
  8. Cool, I don't think I've seen a Funnybook #1 color variant before. I'm partial to these aberrations.
  9. How about this for a great deal? Someone picked up Salt of the Earth's Comix, Major Make Believe, and Balloney Moccasins in one lot for $90... linky
  10. Is #3 also hard to find? Not particularly. I'd say that it's uncommon, at best. I've seen many copies come and go over the years. Agreed. A couple of weeks ago there were copies available for sale in the $35 to $40 range on Amazon and Abe. All seem to have since sold, but they do turn up here and there, unlike #1 and #2. Reverend, are you aware of the bpNichol Archive? They probably won't be inclined to sell, but they have a copy of snore #2 on their website.
  11. Amazing books Reverend. Wish I had 'em, but, alas, no. I came across #3 at McGill's library in Montreal when I was there, one of two underground comix they had in their collection. Here a couple of pics for anyone who's interested and hasn't seen it before.
  12. I am amazed that the lower grade copy Foo #2 went for that much. I would have guessed it would have fetched about $500, maybe $750. Again the prices for Hairy Who seem to be out of step with the FUGG. Three lower grade copies bringing in 30% more than the list price of 3 pristine copies. One of the three had a near total spine split. Maybe it was the Sack factor. Judging by the dust shadow, it looks like that exact copy of Foo #2 was acquired at Heritage for roughly $500 in 2013, which strikes me as a bit low. But, yes, a healthy price this time around at almost five times that. I guess the rule on books as rare as the Hairy Whos is that, if you want them, buy them when you see them. Still, I think you are right, when it comes to discrepancy with prices in Fogel, the Sack Factor has to be taken into account.
  13. Congrats! My guess would be that census numbers are low because for whatever reason many underground collectors don't grade their books. But, if the 5000 figure is correct, and I have no reason to doubt it, that is still a relatively small number of copies. While I'm sure there are many ungraded copies out there (I myself have 3), many of them, like my copy below (the rare purple-marker-all-over-the-front-and-back-cover variant), are likely rags.
