  7. Marvel Mania #5 - $60 SOLD Front cover by Jack Kirby. Back cover by Mike Royer. Issue has bio pages on Alan Hanley and James Shull; a feature on Marvelmania in Vietnam; Roy's Rostrum, a column by Roy Thomas with his discussion about getting ideas; a Marvel Readers' Test; reviews of the movies "Beneath the Planet of the Apes" and "War of the Worlds" and various Marvel comics; Part 2 of an article on the origin of Odin; an article on "Super Heroes in Everyday Life"; and more. Tim Kirk illustration. Spider-Man front cover by Jack Kirby. Silver Surfer back cover by Mike Royer. 8.5 x 11 in.; black and white; 32 pages. --------------------------------------------------- E Pluribus Marvel # 5 - $150 $125 $95 OBO Published 1968, by editor Jay Zaremba. Cover by fan artist; Al Grinage Jr. of Marvel Comics’ Captain America. Other fan artists that have artwork in this issue are, Dave Russell, Ted White, Mike Robertson, Max Gottfried, Bob Gale and Mike O’Neal. Also there is one small illustration by future pro; Klaus Janson. Things start off with the typical fanzine editorial by Zaremba, welcoming new readers and providing the names of the contributors to this issue of the fanzine. Then we get a one (1) page article entitled; “On Negroes In Comics”, written by Warren Bluhm and focusing on Marvel Comics. Following that is a three (3) page article entitled; “Spider-Man versus Hawk & Dove” by Dave Perry and John Crawford. They actually give the, then new, Steve Ditko DC Comics series pretty good marks. Next up is “A Study of The Thing”, a three (3) page article written by Bob Gale, focusing on, you guessed it, The Thing from the Fantastic Four, of all things! Following that is the longest article of the fanzine, a six and a half (6 1/2) pager entitled; “A Look At National Comics” from future pro; Tony Isabella. Zaremba wraps things up with a short few final comments and the sixteen (16) page fanzine is finished. --------------------------------------------------- Golden Age #1 - 1965 Fanzine - $80 $60 $40 OBO THE NOTEWORTHY FRONT COVER FEATURES A GREAT FAN DRAWING OF FLASH GORDON, ZARKOV AND DALE ARDEN, by none other than fan legend Ronn Foss. It is quite a remembrance of the early days of comic book fandom. The interior includes contributions by, and/or stories about, RONN FOSS, JOHN FANTUCCHIO, MARGARET GEMIGNANI, RICK WEINGROFF, RAYMOND MILLER, PHIL SEULING, ALAN WEISS, PAUL GAMBACCINI and G.B. LOVE. The size is approximately 8.5" x 11", and the printing is probably mimeo. Topics include a major comic strip by Weiss, a Superman fantasy tale by Phil Seuling, a serious and outstanding Flash Gordon article, and "Timely's Lovely Ladies" (Miss America, Sun Girl, Golden Girl). The old fanzines of this era are generally rare today. They provide an amazing insight into what comic books fans were thinking and feeling, when the highest price ever paid for a single comic book was in the $100 or less range. --------------------------------------------------- Alter-Ego #4 1962 - $50 $45 $40 OBO Roy Thomas. In the Alley Awards section, DC dominated in all categories, with Marvel only getting one serious nomination - for the Hulk as worst comic! As if that weren't shocking enough, Superman and Action Comics were also nominated - Magic Agent, however? He DID stink, in 1961 or any other year. There were a couple of nice articles dealing with the history of MLJ and two villians from the Golden Age, the Claw and Ironjaw. There was also a review of the first Batman movie serial, along with some reminiscing from Paul Reinman. To top this great issue off, there's a nice Jack Kirby drawing of the Thing, circa 1962. 9. I've been a member for a long time and sold some items in the distant past. I'm planning on selling a bunch of comics and zines in the near future. If anyone dealt with me in the past, please post your honest feedback here. Likewise, all feedback on newer purchases appreciated as well. I'm located in Troy, NY. Near Albany, NY. I welcome in person transactions where possible. Also willing to travel upto one hour for larger, in person transactions.
  10. Thanks @Hutch88 I tried calling several times over a couple of days and could not reach a live person... but maybe things have calmed down. I'll try again!
  11. Found some additional pieces of art I'd like to sell. https://photos.app.goo.gl/DXUjzW1fqn8qgUVDA Located near Albany, NY. Not sure how to price. Feel free to make an offer for some or all.
  12. I'm preparing my first submission and I have some "Oakland copies." They have a bag board and sticker indicating place of purchase, condition, etc. I recall that CGC will not return bags and boards... is that true for pedigrees as well? I'd be fine if CGC does not recognize authenticity for any reason they so desire, but I'm concerned if they do not return the bag/board with label and do not recognize the pedigree. Seems silly but am I correct to worry or would they return the bag/and board under these circumstances. https://www.cgccomics.com/resources/pedigree/ is helpful but it does not state how they handle items I mentioned. Thanks in advance!
  13. Can't seem to edit the original post... but this item is still available! You can reach me at nathan.kroop@gmail.com
