  1. When it comes to having artist sign comics, what is the best pen to use? I know a standard sharpie works well on a comic with white/light background, but is there a preference everyone has when it comes to getting comics signed to make the signature pop? I've been eyeing metallic sharpies (or even metallic paint sharpies), but I didnt think the paint pens would ultimately work well with comics. I'm sure it depends on the type of cover too.
  2. I’m curious of what everyone’s opinion is when it comes to requesting a pen for signature? I always look for a cover that has a good signing spot, but worry about choosing the wrong pen to make it pop. Sharpie seems to work best in clear signing areas (light areas or white), but struggle if there isn’t a good light spot. Do metallic pens work best? Does it depend on the type of cover? Or would it be best to just say “(Artist) please use your best professional opinion for pen for this spot”? Thanks in advance!!
  3. Appreciate the insight everyone! I'll just be happy and stick with the 9.6.
  4. Hey everyone! I was just feeling out if I should bother resubmitting my book to get re-graded and saw a suggestion to get some feedback here first. This was graded at a 9.6 with notes "very light spine stress lines". I am very happy with the grade, but my issue is I did not get it pressed the first time I sent it in (this was my first submission ever and did not know about pressing). So now I'm thinking if I had gotten it pressed, if it would have fixed the "spine stress"? Would it be worth re-submitting and have it pressed to get re-graded (estimated worth almost doubles from a 9.6 to a 9.8)? The only real problem area I notice is the lower staple, but I'm not sure what else to look at. Or should I just be happy with the 9.6?
  5. Hey everyone! I know there are no guarantees for resubmitting anything to try and get a better grade, but I was just curious of others experiences with this? I'm new to getting comics graded and did not get my first book pressed. It's a Batman Adventures #12 (first Harley) that is at a 9.6 and the notes were "very light spine stress lines". I was wondering if I should resubmit to get it pressed to see if it fixes this and bumps it up, or should I just be happy with my 9.6 an not risk it?
