  1. I answered this above: "For the 9.9s three Counterpoints, two Coffins, one Zenescope Showcase. Counterpoint comics...the content is of dubious quality, but the publishing quality is quite high it appears." These were just regular Counterpoint and/or Coffin variants, the kind of limited variants you get from their Kickstarters and such. Not sure what explains it; this is all pretty obscure stuff which would have few if any other graded copies in the census.
  2. Oh, new release special/limited covers stuff...for the 10s, three Counterpoints, one Coffin, one Mt Olympus, one Zenescope Gallery (which always have a high chance of a higher than 9.8 grade due to the paper quality.) For the 9.9s three Counterpoints, two Coffins, one Zenescope Showcase. Counterpoint comics...the content is of dubious quality, but the publishing quality is quite high it appears.
  3. So I just had a submission shipped (or shipping tomorrow, 9/21, according the tracker page) that was received on 9/1 and probably shipped by me like a week and a half before 9/1. Standard modern grading, 25 comics. But--and this is why I am mentioning this, because I want to note this win somewhere--I feel like I hit the jackpot with whoever the grader was, because this shipment has six 9.9s in it and six 10s. Almost half the submission over 9.8! This has never happened to me before, my previous record was maybe three 10s and two 9.9s in a group of 25.
  4. I sent in five different submissions on January 20th. Of the five, the modern economy tier one I did a 9.8 prescreen on, where they warn a prescreen can add another 30 days to your turnaround time, is the first one to ship (shipped yesterday.)
  5. I, too, recently received my first non-payments, on six items. Wonder if it was just one bidder YOLOing themselves off the platform.
  6. Had a modern tier no fast track submission, received 11/22, go backwards from "g/e/i" to "received" today. Perhaps they decided they had moved a little too fast on that one.
  7. When I saw this post on reddit I couldn't even figure out what the issue was--were consignors manipulating the MCS listing system somehow? But thanks to this thread I get it now, it's just people picking stuff up cheap at the auctions and immediately consigning. Which seems like a precarious way to make money? But I guess if something doesn't sell at the flipped price you just relist it at the auctions and break evenish.
  8. My last three modern tier, no fast track submissions got processed pretty fast. One submission went from officially received (as opposed to when USPS tracking said it arrived) on 8/18 to shipped on 9/2. My most recent one...it appears my luck has run out. Received 10/11, still sitting there, sad and unopened, not even officially received and assigned a submission number yet. I know, hurricane and NYCC...but still, it's been over three weeks at this point.
  9. My second 25 comic all modern submission, no fast tracks: Received 7/12/22, shipped 8/15/22 My third 25 comic all modern submission, no fast tracks: Received 8/18/22, shipped 9/2/22 I just want to brag about the third submission because it was all 9.8s except for: One 9.2 (a copy of Betty & Veronica 261 I bought when it came out) Three 9.9s (!) Two 10s (!!)
  10. Not sure if I should put this here or the noob thread (since I am a "getting my own books signed" noob) but: does Sabine Rich regularly do signings? Been stressing out about a few books that I ordered not getting to me in time to send on to CGC, but if she is a frequent signer than I can just wait until next time. (I already sent in a submission of the books I had, these are just a few extras that I thought would look cool in a signed slab.)
  11. My first ever large submission, 25 books, all modern, no fast tracks. Received: 6/10/22 Shipped: 8/12/22 12 9.8s 6 9.6s 2 9.4s, 1 9.2 --I thought at least five of the books I sent in could be sub 9.8, so I guess I am half disappointed with the results here. And 4 REJECTS: at first I was like, what happened? Did I submit a bootleg comic book?? But from searching this forum it looks like a REJECT is just a book that cannot be safely slabbed and you are not charged for it (but I will follow up on that with CGC obviously.) Will be interested in reading what the reason was...the four that were rejected are all obscure variants with oddly cut covers where I can see there being an issue getting them to sit in a slab. Anyway, this was much faster than I thought it would be. I went with CGC vs their competition since the competition seems to have completely lost control of their backlog, and that decision has paid off, at least in this case.
  12. CGC support answered my question, and I am copying it here if anyone else is ever googling for "maximum magazine submission CGC" or similar:
  13. Question regarding CGC grading of magazines (I'm sure this is answered somewhere but I am having trouble searching it up): what is the maximum magazine submission size? The magazine equivalent number of the regular comics maximum submission of 25 books, in other words.
  14. So my first ever CGC submission was 26 comics, because I did not understand there was a maximum submission size. It was split into two submissions, one 25 comics, one single comic. Received 6/10/22. This was a modern tier submission, no fast tracks. The single submission was shipped to me today. (Happily it is a 9.8.) The other 25 are still "scheduled for grading."
  15. Thanks for the encouraging words, Stefan and Petroman, I hope to have a bunch of 9.8s as well.
  16. Okay, so I am a noob with getting my own books graded but I think this thread has answered the question I had: just because my books are now "scheduled for grading" does not mean I should expect to see them anytime soon. These were two different modern submissions, no fast tracks. One was received 6/10 and the other 7/12; interestingly they both were made "scheduled for grading" yesterday (when my card was charged.)
  17. So I have a noob question. I just made my first submssion of my raw books, 26 modern books total. They have been received by CGC. CGC has split my submission into two different submissions--that is, my submission acknowledgement has two submission numbers on it, one for 25 books and one with just one book. Both submissions still have the service listed as "modern" so I don't think it's that one of my books was worth over $400. Why would one book be placed into a separate submission? Thanks...I think I did everything correctly otherwise...maybe I had a book out of order from the packing list?
