  1. I think in this instance, this is the best outcome one is going to get. It's an impasse. Unless the 'worked out' = the owner acknowledging his isn't an original. Doesn't seem likely for now. Being on the right side of an issue doesn't mean mob mentality can't rear its ugly head. For what's its worth, think both Malvin and the other guy are decent persons and I can empathise with both of them. I truly believe given some time the other guy will realise his piece isn't the original. But he need to come to this realisation on his own. The more he is pressured, the more he is going to knuckle down. And the more pissed we get the more we pressure him. And the cycle goes on. I am not singling out any individual here but collectively.
  2. Well Damien was born from a jackal in the original movie. Let's see whether they stick to that. I'm a big fan of the first movie and the book. The rest were ridiculous.
  3. If you're talking about simply drawing, I would think Ross' art is definitely more pleasing to the eye but for world building, nobody trumps Kirby. He was the king of invention. I honestly don't think anyone even coming close. I don't know enough but if we wanted to pick a few names it would have to come from Kirby's era, maybe Eisner ? For more modern day ones, Perez ? But there is simply no comparison.
  4. Oh my I totally missed that. Now I can't unsee it. Still an above average Bolland Dredd page.
  5. Ain't my thing but that's no $300 con sketch. It's the variant cover for x-men 1 which runs for a few hundred bucks. I wouldn't pay for that either but there were 79 bids for it. Go figure
  6. Guess the dune miniseries was probably the most faithful to the books but it was a miniseries and more time could be given to flesh out the different narratives. I am def not one who demands accuracy so much as faithfulness to film adaptations. Its an adaptation afterall and I think this movie stayed true to that. Having said that I still remember being so disappointed seeing gandalf's staff being broken by the witchking.
  7. Is this now gonna cross 500k? Gonna be great to see heavy hitters bidding on this ICONIC piece of history.
  8. If you are looking for raws with strict grading then j would recommend MyComicShop. In Heritage's defence, you are buying lots so you should expect the grading to be some way off, not taking into your account your own grading standards. You should take part in the grading contests here. I thought I was a below average grader. Now i know i'm just below average.
  9. The collections are so impressive. I went to dig some slabs from my own collection. They are nothing compared to what has been shared but I always thought mine were worth at most 50-100 bucks a slab. Nice to know they could be worth slightly more
  10. 30k for 1 book..all day, everyday. Gets me a book I rly want and can't afford.
  11. I rly enjoy these contests and appreciate the effort Mike has taken which is considerable. But i have come to realise that I have learnt very little when it comes to grading as a result of these contests. I'm not complaining mind you but It's rly been all over the place for me. I don't deny i prob suck at at this but the grading is rly all over the place at times, probably depending on who has graded it, when it was graded and which period the book was from. Still fun regardless.
  12. I started collecting funny books in the late 80s and seriously (sadly) collected keys only in the early to mid 2000s. A 6.0 blue label Bats 1 was around 20k. I thought these books had been around since forever so the prices had stabilised and I could purchase these books once I had saved enough. What a fool i was. I doubt a 6.0 blue label will ever be had for those prices. GA and SA keys (not the mega keys) will always have a market whether it be new fans or just investors. The OA market is even worse. No good Ditko spidey is gonna be had for 20k. This will most certainly not go the way as stamps. As a fan and collector, I so hope I'm wrong. And stamp collecting had a revival during covid mind you.
  13. If history has shown us something, it will go up at some point for sure. Sooner rather than later. Once prices keep falling, sellers stop selling. Demand goes up. Prices as well. Comics are a limited pool. OA even less so. I guess the perfect storm of covid and cryptoboom was a once off for the sky high prices but who knows.
  14. I'm just saying being attractive isn't a requisite to be supergirl. If she was portrayed as supergirl without having powers to fly, that would be different; or not being the cousin of Supes. Being good looking and attractive aren't exactly the same things. Check it out. And both are subjective. For what's its worth, I find Milly good looking. There is an otherworldly look about her. Good casting Imho.
  15. A cameo and a first appearance needn't be mutually exclusive. A characters first appearance could have been a cameo. Think the issue would be the extent of that character's cameo, some half panel silhouette or a full page appearance front and center.
