Are prices still climbing or have they eased up a bit???

The numbers are not sustainable. -
There is such a thing in America as the first amendment. Under our God created rights, which the government does not grant, but we are born with, we are permitted to say, and type offensive language, and inaccurate information too. Of course, if it is about another person and inaccurate one can get sued for libel or slander, but that is another issue. However, I can say I don't like so and so ethnic group (my mind does not run like that, just an extreme example to make a point) in the rudest of terms and my speech is protected in a public forum. I think it may actually be illegal for paypal to institute this type policy, as it is probably even more so with all the big tech social media too. They are in reality the modern-day public square, DeFacto public interest companies. This forum may be different, but I strongly suspect FB, Twitter, Instagram, etc.; the supreme court or a circuit court would rule against the big tech social media entities if they claimed they had the right to censure free speech. In fact, I expect class action lawsuits against the big tech social media companies when it is indisputably proven that they have censured and suspended people for information they deemed false that clearly is not, (although even that is not a viable justification) and will be/or has been, proven so in the courts. This will one day, and maybe soon, come to the supreme court, a high-level federal court, and /or congress

DC 52 Big Pages (later 48) 25 cent appreciation club

Yep, there ya go, 1998. Just before he partnered up with Steven, I think. Yes, by the time I got there a lot of the keys were gone. I am fairly sure he had the collection at a convention before I got to it. Still, i purchased a boat load of books that day and was very happy with them. Those were fun days. -

I went to Vincents house to buy some books from this collection, way back when, I think it was 1994 when he introduced this collection? I rifled through hundreds of those Oakland books that day. Anyway, beautiful book. -
That sucks. I just typed a reply that took me about 25 minutes to write, and it did not post. Oh well I don't have the inclination now to do it again. Suffice to say that the people are buying available art is a lubricous argument. How many times has that happened with stocks, and other assets and people have lost their shirts? I'll also sum up my three paragraph lost reply and say that we have never experienced QE like this before and it was a factor in many having disposable income like not in the past, That boat has sailed, When the economy does crash, a lot of people are going to need to sell assets to survive. Lastly, the point is not moot, not even if we experience a world wide meltdown. Because eventually, even in that scenario, there must be a reset of values, and OA relative of that value reset will most likely see a steep decrease.

Funny, but not a viable comp.

I would say homes, medical/health costs, car values, for starters; many assets and items that most consider necessary to live a reasonable lifestyle.

Comic art and comics in general are vastly over valued at this point in time. There is no solid rationale for most of them being priced at where they are currently at. Since the 1960s I have been a proponent of comic collectibles being very much under valued, so never thought I would say this. The prices for most of the material are not justifiable and are not sustainable, nor healthy for the hobby.

Good answer.

Purchasing less due to poor stock market results

You typed "these assumptions". That is the problem with the internet. Can't see the person facial expressions or body language, nor hear their voice intonations. And since we are all not writers or can just be going about things quickly ("your claims" would maybe have been a more accurate phrase re your core motivation) obviously your intentions were lost in translation. Peace. -

Since you disagree with my position, why don't you give me facts on why you do. I have stated many of the reasons why in the last couple of months on these boards. Look them up. If your smart, you'll stay out of stocks for the next long while. You'll thank me later.
