  1. The reason I have Multiple copies is that my comic shop didn't always get what I had ordered. So trying to keep my collection of the series I was reading. I would Order at two walk-in comic stores and also did a mail order co. So I Sometimes ended up wit 2 or three extra copies. Found out later that one walk-in store would pull out the hot books and try to sell them at an inflated price later. Needless to say I quit going to him when I found out.
  2. I buy most of the stuff I want on-line. When it's delivered by Fed-Ex the Company. I purchased from sends me an E-Mail saying it was delivered at 12:60 PM on Thursday. About a week or more later it finally showed up at my house. This happens way to often were it's so far behind what they say and when it shows up. I look for another option for delivery if available instead of Fed-Ex.
  3. I used the BCW bag and boards and they are fine. but you need to make sure you order the right size from gold to bronze age. Also I don't put my new ones in a modern bag. their to tight. I suggest going down one age to silver to bag them. Hopefully this is helpful for you.
  4. Just got my book back. Unfortunately it was a lower grade than I would have liked. It came back with a 6.0 grade.
  5. I'm kind of surprised about your long wait. When I joined and ordered the shipping kit(it was free)I got it within a couple of weeks. My order of nine modern age books were back to me within two months. The second group of three books of Bronze and silver age is on it's way now. They took about two and a half months. I'm just glad it didn't take too long. Maybe I just got Lucky.
  6. I started buying X-Men starting with Giant Size #1. Got all the way to 431 before I stopped collecting comics. Was ordering at 3 different places and I still couldn't get all the books I wanted and ordered so I stopped. Did two retail comic shops and mail order. So I was missing a few issues and also got three of the same issues. Unable to get what I would have liked, so I just decided to give up.
  7. Right now I'm about 6,000 books. Used to have twice as many, but got married and she complained it was taking up to much room. So I sold about half my collection. Should have kept the collection since I got rid of her a year later.
  8. I felt the same way you did about hoping nothing happening. Back in 2015 someone broke into my house and took a few comics. They only got some new ones as I stacked the boxes with the good ones on the bottom behind the first boxes. After that happened i went all out and encased my house in iron grills on the windows and a security door. Got a little expensive but now I'm more comfortable.
  9. I've been collecting since around 1967. At first I just put them in an old cleaned out rainbow hamburger bag. I didn't know about bags and boards until the late 1980's. Most of my books are in regular bags and boards[ sent in the books in their original bags and boards that I had them in.} and the rest in thick Mylar's. All books are in comic boxes about 10 small and about 30 long. I have never used modern bags and boards even for the modern comics. the first time I tried it was to snug for my comfort. So all are in the bigger size.
  10. Just got the CGC boxes to send in some books. The bags & boards they sent me to pack into were all modern age size. I'm sending in some Golden Age, Silver Age and Bronze Age. Why don't they send the correct B&D's for the appropriate books. There's no way some books will fit into what they sent. They'd get trashed. Seeing as how they have my order form, couldn't they have sent the larger sized bags? Any comments about this out there?
