LONGDILLON1 KUDOS & FEEDBACK THREAD!
Leon/Swirl Comics replied to longdillon1's topic in Kudos Forum
I sold Dillon five raw books including Incredible Hulk 182, Journey into Mystery 85, Marvel Super-Heroes 18, Strange Tales 101, and Strange Tales 135. Communication was excellent. Payment was prompt. He let me know when the books arrived, and that they were packaged well, as promised. I wouldn't hesitate to work on a deal with Dillon again. He negotiated in good faith throughout the discussion, and it's great to work with people who have a genuine interest in comic books. Leon -

Selling to Hector was as smooth as it gets. Also an excellent seller to negotiate with, so I wouldn't hesitate to make a reasonable offer on anything he posts. All around top notch person for doing business. Leon

Sold Claudio Hero for Hire #1 and Captain Marvel #1. Great communication on 3 way shipping deal he suggested which made my life considerably easier. At this point, books reached the 3rd party, and I look forward to hearing when they're happily in Claudio's hands. The international community is awesome. I wish post for collectibles was more transparent! There's no way anyone could mistake vintage comic books for anything nefarious, , so the hoops for customs, insurance and tracking are a little ridiculous. Wish I could just take trips to places like Italy and hand deliver Until then, great communication and courtesy make all the difference, and Claudio is solid on both! Leon@LeonsComics.com

After not being on the boards for a long while, I like the new approach better. It feels more intuitive. I'd hope when a boardie posts something like "I bought from this person, was very satisfied, and would be happy to buy again" there's an assumption they are being honest. Perhaps I'm naive on this point. I do think it's very important to emphasize these posts regard actual transactions (in other words, I did buy from or sell to the person I'm posting about). But again, it seems awkward to ask me to prove this in my post, so to speak. I understood the guideline format to be "Leon's Feedback Thread" so feedback seemed to already be part of the deal, and based on that I (perhaps mistakenly) encouraged buyers from my first thread to post feedback positive or otherwise. The constructive comments I received were via PM, perhaps an indicator people generally prefer to handle those things via PM (those items were handled simply and quickly to the buyers' satisfaction). Bottom line for me, it's useful to have a better organized listing to quickly get a feel for someone I've never met, but would like to buy/sell/trade with...I got burned by a HoSer who had some kudos, so obviously it's not foolproof (yes, I was foolish), but I'm casting my two cents on the side of useful enough and decidedly better organized now. KUDOS THREAD - positive feedback on buyers/sellers

Kudos back to you, Bill. Great communication, smooth transaction, happy to pass nice books along to someone who appreciates them leon@virtualeon.com -
He was spotted as the new door man at Chuck e Cheese Good one Maybe once he's old enough to get a job! Hey, who needs a job when you can steal? Not bitter--really Leon@virtualeon.com

Regarding gilbertotorres, I would greatly appreciate a copy of that link via PM. I was dumb enough to mail a check for $130 based on previous posts on the boards saying the guy was okay. Of course, that was 2+ months ago with no book anywhere in sight and several agreements broken before he dropped out of communication. By the way, a couple adjacent units at the same postal addresses are Internet domain place holders, so the whole thing stinks like a scam. Leon@virtualeon.com

Following the established guideline seems like due process to me. Cutting it short in an individual case would set a bad precedent for handling situations on the fly. A search by handle will get prospective sellers to the discussion here anyway, and right now it would be enough to personally make me say, "Sorry, no personal check, how about PayPal?" I agree with the discussion in general--if the seller still wants the agreed deal, the buyer should try to follow through. Tone is irrelevant to an already agreed transaction. Maybe something can be negotiated before the 30 days. I know I have an extremely bad taste in my mouth right now about sending a check--and I researched what a good seller they were on the boards before sending. The difference being, my check was cashed and cleared my bank 29 days ago. cheers, Leon@virtualeon.com
