  1. I was really surprised what the Daniel pieces wound up at, because I thought they would go a bit higher. The promotional Daniel piece was a steal at 10k - really nice. The Destruction page and Vess pages were really healthy as well. Honestly, I don't think much of the OA had that much of a Gaiman tax, but as mentioned, the slabs and other pieces were a different story. Regardless, it was nice to see things come out of the woodwork. We'll see, but I think there's still plenty of room for growth, although I am sure there are plenty out there that would like to see the opposite... (myself included). 🙃🙃🙃😁😁😁
  2. Pictures would be great if you have any. Of course I'm a sucker for anything McKean related. 😁
  3. Even though I wasn't able to attend SDCC, I was able to get a couple of things. This is the first I have gotten scanned. I know a peacock isn't comic related per se, but Dave McKean doing it makes it special to me. Thought it turned out great.
  4. Agreed. And definitely curious how the cover to issue and the Dringenberg piece end up as well. Exciting to see for sure.
  5. 13x19 Itoya with mylar sleeves for the art is how the bulk of my pages are stored. Anything oversized (DPS, early Sandman pages, anything else larger than 11x17, etc) goes into a larger portfolio. Pages are in mylar as well. Just having the extra breathing space is nice, even if the art slides around just a little.
  6. So, I guess the real question at this time is what condiment works well with a hat: Ketchup? Grey Poupon? A1?
  7. Know it's still early, but 915k with the juice for DKR 1 cover already. What was the over / under again?
  8. For the most part, anything I have framed these days is simple black and white frame showing the full board. I do that for black and white pages and color too. Just like the minimal approach and letting the art speak for itself. When I first started collecting, I did color mattes for a couple of paintings and one DPS has a matte covering the border of the page. Not that they look bad or anything, just older me prefers the cleaner approach. Obviously do what works best for you! Below is what I have framed currently. Sorry for the lack of photography skills. 😜
  9. Am I content with my collection? For the most part, yes. I've become more focused on my wants, and have a long term goal / dream for specific pages that my never happen, but I do have my Sandman grail, so there's always hope. Sure, there's a ton of things I would like to have, but the reality of being able to obtain them has been going by the wayside price wise for a long time. Sure, there is still affordable pieces out there that do interest me, but I just haven't gone in on them yet. I have been enjoying the occasional commission when I have been able to get them as well. I'd probably be a 8.5 / 10 if we were grading.
  10. I have most of my Sandman OA signed by Neil as well as the artists who did the work. Why? Well, to me, Neil's words are just as important as the art, IMHO. Honestly, if I had anything that Alan Moore wrote, I'd feel the same way. Does it add anything to the value? Probably not, but I'd argue getting Neil to sign something is about the same degree of difficulty to get most of the other artists signatures these days. And, Neil signed my pages in the margins with a ballpoint pen. I'd suggest the same for anyone signing OA.
  11. Yeah, hard to say. Yes, it was cool to see the page from 8, but it wasn't really an A or A+ example in my opinion. Don't get me wrong... it's great to see them surface, but I don't think it really would have gone that much higher. Honestly, I think the only real A+ Sandman page to hit the auctions was the house ad. Definitely felt that piece was under what it should have gone for, but kudos to the buyer for getting it at that price. Look forward to seeing what else shows up down the road. I do agree that prices are scratching the surface, but we haven't had a lot of A+ pages from the book to really judge that on.
  12. I'm waiting for the 38 Garfield straps to be added so it pushes the total over 1000 for this auction.
  13. Yeah, no idea what the page from 8 will go for. It's nice, but not something I would personally go to the mat for. Definitely cool to see it though. The Lucifer page... not sure I that one either, because I keep kicking myself for not going after it when it was originally listed on Albert's site for 8k (or bidding for it when it was originally auctioned).
  14. Back to print. Comic Buyer's Guide ads here we come!
  15. Wow. Late to the party. Just curious, what was your asking price on the Death page? Wonderful piece. Definitely curious what you're getting as well. Good luck with the sale.
  16. Well, the ones with the colored mats were done years ago by different framers, so that's on me more than anything else. Honestly, I'd probably prefer having them be redone in the same size / black and white like the other McKeans are. Just haven't done it... yet. Same thing with the Spawn / WildCATS DPS - different framer at the time it was done. Now to lose some sleep due to this and OCD kicking in.
  17. Not perfect alignment, but here's what's hanging at the moment.
  18. Appreciate the replies and links to the pictures. Even if it is mostly "same old, same old" pieces, it's still nice to see them at least. Especially while things are still struggling to get back to normal. Thanks again.
  19. Just wondering if anyone attended and took pictures they'd be willing to post. Always have enjoyed seeing them from past cons. Thanks!
  20. Not that I'm in the market for it, but where was it posted it will be for sale? I saw Jim's IG post showing it, but would have thought he would have said something. Not criticizing, just curious. Regardless, it's awesome to see.
  21. Definitely some crazy stuff in this auction. This was pretty interesting to see for sure, but not shocking with the series around the corner.
  22. Found some stuff I forgot I had. Sorry about the orientation. Thanks in advance for any opinions.
  23. A unpublished Jay Anacleto cover I picked up a while back. Sorry for the so so picture. All pencil and amazing detail.
