  1. Will CGC grade these? I know the thickness has to be 5.5 or less but I don't have a micrometer to measure the thickness. Just wondering if anyone knows or has tried to grade them.
  2. Question, if we have a comic already graded by CGC are we able to send it back, have CGC open it, then have Mr McFarlane sign it and then re encapsulate it?
  3. Yes there would be an extra cost to get the notes so you would understand going into it, extra cost and extra time. I agree, most "bulk tier" cards I wouldn't pay for that BUT when a card missed a 10 by .5 and to the naked eye you can't see any defects, I'd like to know what the grader saw. I've missed a Perfect 10 by .5 on surface and again, can't see any defects with the naked eye. Just another level of transparency that that would available IF you wanted to pay for it.
  4. I grade a lot of cards with CGC and 99% of the time I'm happy and understand why a card graded the way it did. On a rare occasion, like the ones above, I don't understand. Yes they are stringent but I like that. I believe they give a very true grade that the card deserve to have. They don't hand out 10's like candy on Halloween.
  5. Yes, I agree printing stands have gone down. I do not blame CGC and trust their grading. I'm more curious as to why it did get knocked. I have some cards coming back today that got 8.5's on surface and to my naked eye, I can't see any defects. I would even be on board with paying a few extra dollars per card to get a detailed report on why it graded the way it did. If you are already paying for sub grades, the grader is essentially detailing each of the 4 subcategories. I'm ok with paying a little extra to get the graders notes or an overview of the graders notes. This would a big leap into transparency and would put a stop to age old knock that grading is subjective to the individual grader and not objective as it should be.
  6. This got a 6.5. This card was loose in a tote in the garage for probably a good 10+ years. I'm curious how this got a 6.5 but a pack fresh Lucario and pack fresh Lugia got a 7.
  7. Can anyone see why these would have graded a 7? To get a 7, I would think there would need to be some damage to the card. Any body see something that I'm missing? I wish there was a way to get more insight in why a card graded a certain grade.
  8. To have this graded a miscut, does it need to be sent in as an error card or can I add it with my bulk submission?
  9. The attached Charizard just finished grading but the surface graded a 9. Even looking at the high res photos CGC took, I can't seem to find anything wrong with the surface. No print lines, scratches, etc. How can we get more information as to what lead to the surface getting the grade it did? What should I be looking for on the card? Thank you in advance for your help!
  10. Awesome! If you could throw Topps Star Wars cards into the hat at the next meeting I'd appreciate it. I have some from the 1996 set and the new 2021 Bounty Hunter set I'd like to get slabbed.
  11. Thanks Mike! Does CGC revisit cards to be graded often or can a request be submitted for cards to be added to the list?
  12. Does CGC offer grading for the 1996 Topps Star Wars cards?
  13. Pristine or Perfect? I sent in bulk without subs and only got subs added to my Perfect 10, not my Pristine 10's.
  14. Thank you Mike! I will get this sent in on my next submission!
