  1. Wow ! Incredible copy of a truly difficult book. Congrats.
  2. Not an easy issue to find in nice shape .....
  3. Okay, now I get it . Are you taking testosterone supplements ?
  4. Good for you but I don't understand your implication toward my post ???? Please advise.
  5. If the old owner replies and accepts the request, it happens right away. If not, I think it takes 5 days unless the old owner rejects the request.
  6. Lou, you have it backwards, only the Daredevil was pressed prior to submission to CGC = pressing was not a factor.
  7. May I ask the genre of book and the grade range ? Perhaps CBCS is tighter in GA or the low midgrade range or some kind of discernible pattern. Perhaps they view tape, writing, printing defects, etc differently than CGC. I suspect there is good info from your post we can extract.
  8. While I do like the way books present in the new slab I try to avoid them. 1) Storage. They are thicker and I get less books into a box. This really matters for the safety deposit box. I also don't like to cram a new case into the middle of a bunch of older slabs. It doesn't feel 'right' . 2) Puddling. I used to be able to fix this 'problem' by sliding an envelope through the side of the slab. I can't slide an envelope, or anything else, into the side of the new slab.
  9. Just to demonstrate Jaydog can be wrong, he claimed not to use the HaHa emoticon. I do believe this is a HaHa emoticon .
  10. Jaydog, are you simply dismissing all the dealers and collectors on these Boards telling you that PQ matters ? Do we not exist in your world ? Also, look at the WTB thread and more often than not the request specifies a minimum PQ, often White. I don't see anybody jumping on your bandwagon and backing you with your claims. What is your agenda, why do you care that many of us like a solid PQ, why do you ruin so many threads ???? I also hope you realize that your constant use of the HaHa emoticon is very irritating. You are not showing your fellow Board members respect by laughing at them.
  11. Yes, I would say be grateful you got the one 9.8 . The mistake was in your favor. Delete your post NOW before CGC reads it and asks for a recall !
  12. Solid book. Personally, if given a choice, I would prefer the crease to Marvel chipping and I like the PQ. I would say you would get above average though not necessarily a record high.
  13. This thread has deteriorated to the point where there is nothing of relevance, no real content. The fact that Jaydog is now here arguing about the irrelevance of PQ is perhaps the final straw. Sad.
  14. The top and bottom edges show obvious wear while the right edge is straight and sharp. I wouldn't buy this book.
  15. So now you are the Voice for 'most of us'. How can you make a statement like this and expect anyone to take your comments seriously ? Your statements are obviously not well thought out as you continually pull out random statistics to sound impressive. You have single handedly ruined this, and other, threads with your ridiculous comments in order to pump up books you own. Please consider taking a break from posting. We need a rest.
  16. Value, and I assume you did not choose Fast Track, is the lowest tier. If it's only been a month, I suspect it will be a while longer. Value is currently @ 40 business days.
  17. Sorry but I would think a complete spine split is a lot worse than a missing piece, clipped coupon, etc. 0.5 seems about right to me.
  18. FYI, I just talked to CC and that is the way it works. Unless you saved a link to the page the item was on, you cannot see it after the item closes. So be it but somebody needs to explain to me why this is beneficial to CC ? Heritage, Clink, all the other auction houses don't have this 'feature' . Why would you want to hide closing prices ?
  19. I agree. This thread is currently ONLY about the financials. You have the same group of posters, who are all obviously holding the book, talking nothing but financials. Boring, boring, boring. Go play the stock market, buy some options or futures, get a life, better yet, get a HOBBY.
  20. I tried the E-Mail Link and I am logged in but nothing. I guess I will have to call them tomorrow.
  21. ComicConnect Auction Results ? I wanted to see how some books did in the current event auction but can't seem to find the Sold items ? I tried the Sold items tab but nada. Anybody know how to find sold items ?
  22. As with most such max grade questions the answer is it depends. There are varying degrees of 'detached'. Detached from front cover but still attached to the back or vice versa. Is it detached with damage, tears ? Was it bindery in origin. This question would be easier to answer if this flaw was mentioned on the label. Personally, I can see a 7.0 with a clean, detached staple. If detached to only one of, front or back, I can see it graded as high as 9.0 .
  23. Hey, I agree with you. IMO, CGC should downgrade for all flaws no matter if they are bindery or not. In fact, they often have to guess as to whether a flaw is bindery. This can sometimes lead to manipulation by the submitter. I vaguely remember a big stink years ago on the Boards when it was discovered someone took a book with a dangling corner piece still attached, removed it, and got a 9.6 or something ridiculous. I think he used a nail clipper. He fooled CGC into thinking it was a Marvel chip. A Marvel chips is a piece missing, period. It should be downgraded.
