  1. I've cracked open many old label books, some in excess of 15 years in the slab. The microchamber paper was always fine, still fresh looking. I think it is silly to reholder every 7 years.
  2. I am puzzled by this. There must be something you are not mentioning. Was the slab cracked or damaged when you sent it to CGC. ? If so, the damage is on you. If not, why were you having it reholdered ?
  3. A pic is good but get the notes. If it does not mention the tear, there's your proof. I would contact CGC and get this taken care of now. I suspect the graders never even saw the book or the tear.A signing would surely result in a downgrade. Good luck.
  4. While I don't buy JSC's variants (quite honestly, I just don't like most of them, especially not at his asking prices), I don't see how pricing on the secondary market matters for a comic I want for my PC. Maybe it's just me but I treat comic purchases as expenditures, not investments (hence, I typically steer clear of the expensive stuff). I recently preordered ~$150 worth of Super Sons #1 variants for my PC and I honestly don't expect to recover anywhere near "IPO" price if I ever get rid of them. In this case, JSC is trying to capture a large chunk of the secondary market price by raising his prices. Seeing the demand in the secondary market pre sales he raised his asking price to 200 (?) for the Venom. This put it out of reach for my tastes. It's getting crazy and I am out for JSC.
  5. Huh, what exactly am I pumping? Please explain how the prices are "artificially" inflated when there have been 36 sales of $215 or more. More than JSC was asking. I think you are pumping his product. No biggie, it's your right to do so. Yes, lots of current sales in the heat of the exuberance. The Venom cover is pretty cool and may do well long term = you may be correct. However, the overall product line being produced right now is not that exciting. The Iron Man covers are, IMO, boring. His website pricing sets the bar high for the secondary market. I think much of the product line will be selling for less than their 'IPO' price in the future.
  6. What comics are you referring to? Venom #3 was cheaper than buying on eBay and it was signed. I stopped and did not order the Venom #3. The shenanigans with the delay and price increase did not sit well with me. Just because it is cheaper than E-Bay does not mean it's a bargain. I'm not a flipper. I just like a copy for my personal collection. He has lost my business. Haha, what? So you want to pay what you think is fair, not market value? I don't know what your problem is Mr HaHa but I think the prices for his product are artificially inflated and I am out. My prerogative. Unlike you, I'm not looking to flip these. I am not going to pay the current market because, IMO, long term this is not sustainable. Keep pumping away.

  8. I'm thinking a strong 6.5 with a shot at 7.0 .
  9. After buying a couple times directly from his website, I am not going to order anymore. While I liked the product, these prices are getting insane. To be honest, all his female characters look the same, like seeing Gen 13 over and over again. Not too much creativity either. It's not worth the chase or the price point.
  10. There's a sizable tear at the top of the front cover, a prominent crease in the upper right, and the BC stain . I'm sorry but I could not grade this 6.0. I'm at 5.5 tops.
  11. How would the retailer prevent a customer from picking out the stamped copy first ? Placing it at the back does nothing. If one was stamped, all were stamped. Maybe some creative retailer figured out something different but I doubt it. Why would the retailer care. Not much work to stamp a few more books.
  12. The CGC 8.0 Mine !!!! Sunday Heritage Auctions, last year. Some good bargains in these Sunday auctions. It sold cheaper than I expected. http://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=37069&GSub=889 The VG/F on E-Bay looks really nice for the estimated grade but the pic is cropped at the bottom so who knows. This book is one of my favorites and I don't mind having multiple copies. Don't see them too often in mid grade or better.
  13. I agree. In looking at other copies on E-Bay, I don't see this defect. Therefore, it would probably not be considered bindery. I think CGC would slam it, maybe 9.2 range. Don't bother submitting. No demand for this book even if you got a 9.8 .
  14. Love that WW 104. Is the Monsters on the Prowl a White Mountain copy ?
  15. Good stuff, a fun collecting genre and a LOT cheaper than PreHeroMarvel !
  16. The more I think about it, I like this. Always assign the Blue label and the Blue Label grade. Somewhere show the Qualified grade.Maybe the Blue Label comments could be designed like a double cover with two grades. In summary, eliminate the Green Label altogether, nobody likes it anyway. The Blue Label should clearly state the Qualified defect.
  17. The first 6 Contagion issues, Catwoman 31 was #4, was in a Collector's set. Sometimes it's easier to find the collector's set than to chase the individual issues.
  18. Thanks for posting these, great books. I agree, the Sensations are really rare !
  19. One of my favorite Wonder Woman covers..........
