  1. Wow, what a great looking book, incredible. Thanks for the validation. I know better than to engage people on pressing, my only point here it there is a look,a 'blueprint', for the way pressed books look today. IMO, this collection has obviously been pressed.
  2. In defense of the CGC graders, I can only imagine how tedious it is to grade endless stacks of modern books that have probably already passed the prescreen, documenting every little flaw, with your bosses probably telling you to grade faster. All the while the customer is complaining about the TAT, the QC, and the notes. IMO, give them a break.
  3. I believe if they can't find anything wrong with the book, they are supposed to give it a 10.0 grade. I know you are joking but books grading 9.9/10.0 are supposed to have exceptional qualities, not necessarily the absence of anything wrong. Perfect centering, razor sharp corners, etc.
  4. Bob, a) there is no way those two examples look similar - they are like night and day b) it is entirely possible for an unpressed book to look like that ASM #10 9.8 - you of all people should know this, being a Silver Age collector. Roy, I simply disagree with you. The ASM 10 was just one example but nearly all the books display the same characteristics, the off centered upper right corner with page fanning. Sure, it's possible for an unpressed book to have a similar look but highly unlikely for the majority. Are you saying these books were not pressed ? Come on, you know as well as most of us they were pressed.
  5. Regarding the question if these books have been pressed. IMO, it's very apparent the answer is yes. Anybody remember the Cole Shave discussions ? Here is a template that was published during that discussion showing the format of those uber pressed books. Though a bit more 'tempered' this new pedigree displays the same characteristics. Look at the upper right corner and the way the pages fan out.
  6. I've stated many times that a flaw is a flaw and CGC should downgrade no matter if production or not. Not only for Moderns but all eras. I really hate those long production creases on some Silver Age books that CGC ignores.
  7. Wow, what a great looking book, graded during a tight period, and probably not pressed. Love it, congrats !!!
  8. We need more pictures and less statistics in this thread. Won this one in the CC auction last week. In theory, the last issue before the Silver Age. As a long time collector of Wonder Woman, this is one the harder books to find, trust me.
  9. That is counted as a defect. Definitely, that is a BIG defect.
  10. Not trying to be argumentative here Bob, but why would they be mistakes? If he has nothing in the book and expected the grade, and can sell if for a profit, it is not a mistake. Joey, I was actually trying to be complimentary to Greggy with a tongue in cheek, good natured ribbing thrown in. All in fun. What's the problem ? No problem Bob. Had no idea you were joking. This really was an impressive submission, I especially like that Avengers 100 in 9.8 . But you know, when it comes to Greg, you feel the need to tease a little. Seeing a near perfect sub, I noticed the one 8.0 in there and thought, ahah a chink in the armor. Most others would have presented the books leaving out that 8.0 . A sincere kudos to Greg for always listing everything.

  12. One thing about Greggy, he seems to list everything, including his mistakes. Not true of a lot of other listers. Go Greggy !
  13. First off, I would like to apologize. You are correct, I came on too strong. The friendly approach hasn't been working too well with me lately. However, you mentioned the WWBN 32 Club, where you were doing the same promoting of your book. Did you noticed it got scrubbed ? All your promoting comments were deleted by the Board modifiers in that thread. You mentioned this is a hobby. It is. A thread like this is meant to show off your books. Discussing sales trends is fine but promoting your own books for sale is not. Anyway, I welcome you and hope you to see you stick around a long time. These Boards have so much more to offer than just a forum to sell books.
  14. Hey Tim, maybe it's your book ?
  15. Are you saying this is your book ? I would maybe believe so if it was 9.0 , HaHa !
  16. Will you please stop discussing your sales, pimping your books, in all the wrong threads. Nobody cares about your sales. PLease leave.
  17. And my reply to your reply was also deleted. I know my reply was civil, at least I thought so. Did you reply to my reply ?
  18. Guilty as charged. I am the one that bought the book and apparently you are still holding it against me. I bought the book, in person locally, before all the viral exchanges started. I suppose you do a background check of every person you buy from ? BTW, he did clarify his claim about it being the only double cover of this book. He submitted the book to CGC and they told him it was the only double cover of this issue certified. Didn't seem like a big deal to me. Anyway, still loving this 'cool' book............ http://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=36671&GSub=887
