  1. Good stuff ! In your opinion, which is the most difficult issue to find in a decent grade ? I always had trouble with #8.
  2. Speaking from experience, the unfortunate thing about having volume is you are lucky if you can actually sell the stuff for even close to 50% of FMV, probably less. Quality is much preferred over Quantity.
  3. Chip, wishing you well. Regading any monies I contributed to your fund, please have a meal and beverage on me in the hopes it will pick up your spirits.
  4. Wow, this thread is awesome. Great books everyone. Richard, you really know how to make an entrance, as always, incredible books.
  5. Love the date stamp. Bethlehem copy ? What a great cover. That shade of yellow really stands out, different. Bearded cats ?
  6. Wow ! That's a heck of a first copy. The colors really pop. Congrats.
  7. I can only go by what my customers tell me and what I've had returned due to damage. As of today I've had 8,249 transactions over the past 12 months and the amount of items returned has been 9 (which doesn't mean specifically returned due to damage). That's fine by me. Chip, with all due respect, I don't understand why you would ship this way. Just because you've been lucky so far, doesn't mean your packaging is immune from damage. I suspect there have been more incidents that your customers have simply ignored. I'm also surprised why you would advertise this way of shipping on the Boards. Some of us will not buy from sellers that ship like this.
  8. While I'm at it, here's my copy of 106, not uber high grade but it has White Pages. Ditto, my 123.
  9. Love your book ! I got a Don & Maggie from the same timeframe....
  10. Absolutely an incredible looking copy. Congrats ! That was a tough grading period under Haspel. It looks like a nice, tight grade. It's all great !
  11. That's just some pre marvel chips/tears, a bindery problem.
  12. Hard to follow a Greggy collection but here goes.....
  13. Very cool thread. Just to clarify, is the all white logo (2nd listing) the first print ?
  14. While I understand your concerns Bob as long as you are paying with paypal you are still covered. I have seen an uptick with issues I have had with sellers this past 2 years. There are too many new sellers that really either don't grade, don't pack, or don't ship well. Now in my cases each time after I took the time to show the seller the mistake I was able to return the books. To his point above I don't think we should be able to do pre-sales or pre-slabs without the book in hand. I struggle to make a seller have to provide a picture too because a lot of $1 books don't need pics. Because it does chew up a lot of time. I am not sure how to draw the line there. A true feedback system here would be a nightmare for the mods. I think changes to the selling rules is the better route. Maybe a requirement of time as well on this board before you can sell as well. Some sort of concrete return policy in the thread as well. Thanks for the well thought out, friendly statement. - I totally agree there is no need for pics of dollar books. - I think pics should be a requirement on slabs, especially with the new 'Newton effect' in play. - If pics are not a requirement, then allow I'll Take it Pending scans vs charging an extra 10%. - I believe in being proactive, rather than reactive, so allowing Negative Feedback is not really appealing to me either. I would much rather leave kudos than complaints. - Recognizing the Return Policy is now a Rule, it is often ignored with no enforcement.
  15. 'If' the Kudos threads were changed to Feedback threads and an argument started within the thread why would the Mods need to intervene? Let it play out like any other argument here.
  16. Since some sellers are listing their books as just shipped from Florida with no pics available (unless you want to pay an extra 10%) and no Return Policy. How will this play out with the new Newton effect ?
