  1. Great copy. Love this cover, IMO, a classic cover.
  2. C'mon. At least show us the B&B 34 !
  3. White Mountain copy ? The fanning on the cover looks suspicous. The paper looks much too white to be exposed for 55 years. Cool book.
  4. This book is heavily restored but I just love this cover.......

  6. For me, I cherish the heritage of the label = not worth a resub. I would like to get it reholdered but I would chance losing the vintage label. I asked CGC if they could maintain the label, and though they would try, they could not guarantee it would happen. If I have a keeper book, I just don't see the point of resubbing. It's still the same book no matter what the label says.
  7. I like 145 also. Here's my copy with an interesting twist. It was a very early graded CGC book, they barely opened their doors for business. Graded 12/17/1999 and note the absence of a Page Quality on the label. http://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=31411&GSub=935
  8. No what we agreed on was as soon as he gets his end he'll ship his comics to me. I'll be talking to the po on my side as well. I am sorry to see this happened. I love to trade but the 'usual' arrangement is both parties ship at the same time. I would not do it any other way. If you both agree to ship at the same time and you ship but he doesn't, you can always stop the delivery.
  9. Nice haul, especially on the Action Comics! I agree. I just hope those stickers didn't leave an imprint. Pet peeve of mine, hate it when that happens.
  10. Kelly is top notch. He's just a great guy that loves his comic books. I just completed a large sale/trade with him and it was A+++++ all around, especially with the communication. He has my highest recommendation for honesty and integrity. You will simply not find a better Boardie to deal with and I mean it.
  11. Where's the Winnipeg signature ? I never saw a Silver Age Winnipeg without the signature. Nice book !
  12. True, there are 66 CGC Universal in 9.8 alone, 367 in 9.4 or above. Those are big time numbers for a SA book.
  13. When dealing with slabs, while GPA is still king, Overstreet will be referenced when it is convenient or opportunistic for the seller to quote Overstreet. While this may be fine for books without much sales data, it's a sign of desperation to use Overstreet on books with plenty of data. The 'If I can't justify my price using GPA, I will justify it using Overstreet' is really comical and sad at the same time.
  14. So those in the know can use the guide to buy keys on the low end and sell common on the high end. The moment someone opens up Overstreet to price a book, you are in trouble. For a guide that comes out once a year, it's really difficult to be accurate. Back in the 90's they published an Overstreet monthly and were able to capture hot books. The emergence of CGC ended all that.
  15. I've received 9.8's with a date stamp on the front cover. Silver Age .
  16. I would have one quarter to spend each week. I would get two comics and a nickel candy bar. Then they raise the price to 12 cents, two comics and a gum ball.
