  1. Okay, I'm probably having too much fun with this and getting to the esoteric. That's Judy #1 on the far right....
  2. Pink cover, DC Spider-Man, what's not to like.....
  3. I love Sphinx covers, someone should start a thread.....
  4. I really love this cover, the sky is so blue......
  5. Wonder Woman from this era are not easy to find....
  6. Early Lois Lane, very tought to find......
  7. Adding a few more items to this wonderful thread.
  8. I knew I had a copy of Superboy 79 also. I agree, it's a keeper. Always loved the cover. Here's my copy with a couple 10 cent friends......
  9. While I am in total agreement with you here, it makes one ponder the relevance of GPA. With the market moving so rapidly, prices from even a year ago are stale. Yet, the most recent sale is often considered an outlier. The best way to sell a book is to put it in auction and let the market decide. Trying to price a book from GPA just doesn't seem to work. BTW, no fault to GPA, just the nature of the marketplace.
  10. I bought my Oaklands directly from Vinnie's Collectibles at a convention in Chicago, somewhere in the 1998 timeframe. Though the collection was very new to market, it was still picked over by the time I saw it. I bought all DC, most of the Marvel was taken, maybe I got one X-men. I was happy to fill in a lot of holes in my collection and they came with a cool COA. In hindsight, I would have bought them all !
  11. I subbed about 60 Oakland's, NONE were pressed. Of those, I got 11 9.6's and 4 9.8's. It was a sweet collection.
  12. I think this conversation is ridiculous. This is a specific thread dedicated to AF15 discussion and we are discussing whether it's okay or not to say something negative about a book. Perhaps the Mods should shut this whole thread down and start a new AF15 kudos only thread.
  13. ...this is why I would be inclined to wonder if there is perhaps too much contrast in the imaging. GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) In which case, HA will read our comments and adjust the settings = something positive will come from our critical comments. I do agree with Jimjum, any serious bidder for this book needs to see it in hand first.
  14. Speaking as one who just made a negative comment on this book, I did consider the courtesy aspects of my comment but decided it was okay to post. This is a very public auction, for a very big book. Comments should be expected. I do not like the eye appeal of this book. I do not expect my comment to make the least bit of difference in the final hammer. If we are no longer allowed to make comments on the grade of a book, this site should be shut down. Sorry.
