  1. When you say 'reslab' do you mean a reholder or regrade, big difference. What do you want to accomplish ?
  2. I think the Mixed Thread often gets overlooked by buyers. I know I've missed things because I don't check Mixed often enough.
  3. This might have been your original intent however you followed up with a request to have a new rule added. Much of the debate has been because of the new rule you proposed below. It's official, I rescind my suggestion. Thank you.
  4. I just got my books today from Robert's recent sale. This was my second transaction with him. All around excellent. The books were tightly graded, packaged safely, with great communication and fast shipping. My highest recommendation here. Great seller and Boardie.
  5. Hey guys, I surrender, you win. All I originally asked was if normal sales rules applies to the VCC. If so, I wanted to know the return policy of someone that did not post grades. If I am reading this correctly, there are either no rules OR rules that only apply to some. Cool, I got it. BTW, Jeffro, thanks for having my back being the only one that understood where I was coming from.
  6. Guys, I never took this personal and I don't want this to be a discussion of whether Donut is a good dealer or not. That isn't the point. I don't know Donut. How am I or anybody else that doesn't know Donut supposed to differentiate. You guys are basically saying the rules are for guys that don't know how to grade. The rules should be for everyone. Period. I never called Donut out, just asked about the rules. That is what I want to discuss. I don't want to discuss Donut.
  7. Roy, your comment mentions providing a description. I agree that a robust description with pic can be adequate. However, the sales thread that prompted my queries had no Return Policy, no grade, and no descriptions, only a front cover scan. Is that providing the buyer with enough information ?
  8. I prefer a pic also but it's nice to have both. Let's say a seller posts a pic of a book that looks 9.2 with a 9.0ish price. On the surface it looks like a good deal but you get the book and there's a hidden Back Cover problem, page missing, tan pages, or rusty staples and the book is really a much lower grade. Is this on you ? At least if he gives a grade you have something to discuss.
  9. Great copy. From the cert number, that looks like an old label, maybe a reholder. Certainly looks like a strictly graded 8.5. Congrats !!!!
  10. Thanks. I concur, a general idea of the grade range is fine. I recall a sales thread from Mr. Bedrock earlier in the year. He was offering up some very high grade Charltons and simply gave a blanket grade of VG+ or better (or something like that). He offered a very creative way of supplying a grade without getting into specifics. It worked because his prices were based on the VG+ grade. BTW, I bought some of the books and they were stunning. The new proposed rule should probably be in effect for only books priced above a minimum of some sort. This would allow the one dollar, five dollar, etc tables to continue as is.
  11. I would like to bring up a new topic, maybe even petition for it as an official sales thread rule. For raw books, in the event the seller does not list his opinion of the grade, a mandatory Returns Policy will be in effect. Returns must be allowed with an additional, minimum(discussion point) time limit.
  12. This auction is really worth a look. There are books and covers that are seldom, if ever, seen.
  13. Nice work. It's interesting that fixing the spine made the right edge Marvel chipping more pronounced. I just can't call a book with this much chipping a 5.0 . In the pre CGC days, these types of well read books were classic VG+. It seems CGC doesn't use the 4.5 designator as much, maybe 5.0 sounds better, less harsh. So, CGC will probably give it a 5.0 but my grade would be 4.5.
  14. Nothing but praise for this seller. The book I bought was tightly graded and arrived quickly and safely in bullet proof packaging. One raw book that Ed double boxed in a large Priority USPS box. I also appreciated the above average communication. My highest recommendation here.
  15. Personally, I really like TTA 34 and voted for it as best. Something about that cover, a monster on your bedroom ledge, that brings out the little kid out in you. Very simple but scary. I also really like TOS 16, Metallo is Iron Man ! http://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=11539&GSub=884 http://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=11545&GSub=884
  16. That's a really nice copy. Great centering, tightly graded, looks great !
  17. Nice copy of a fascinating book. I bought a slabbed copy in auction and immediately cracked it open to read.
  18. Impossible to find in this high of grade. Good stuff !
  19. I bought two books from Jerry's latest Board offerings. I was impressed with Jerry's excellent service and communication. His packaging on the books(raw) was outstanding, probably the best I have ever seen on raw books, truly bulletproof. You can feel safe buying from Jerry, my highest recommendation.
  20. I'm done. This series is a waste of my time. Who casts these actors ? Even Ruben Blades can't salvage the overall stinkfest of acting in this show. This show is terrible.
  21. While logistically, having two copies in the encapsulation room at the same time would be rare, perhaps it was a clerical error ? What if, the grade and grading notes were entered on the wrong book ? Maybe something as simple as they forgot to hit 'enter' on this book and kept typing. Or maybe they were interrupted and came back entering the wrong data. Stuff happens. I just checked and this is the last book in the submission. The book sequentially before this one, is a Flash 123 in 7.0 . Perhaps it was a clerical error = they left the same grade for this book. Do the notes for the Batman match the Flash 123 ?
