  1. Circle 8, Diamond Run, and Mile High II have been dropped by CGC as recognized Pedigrees. The Oregon Collection, introduced by Metropolis I believe, had a lot of White Paged early DC Silver.
  2. +1 Even Greggy would be proud of that batch !
  3. Yes, last night I was trying to post some in a sales thread and got completely hung up.I gave up and walked away. Very frustrating but after all, it's not like we are paying for this service !.
  4. That's actually a pretty nice AF15! Too bad about those tape pulls. I wonder how high it could grade with those tape pulls? 4.0? It drives me absolutely insane when sellers scan the inside front cover like that -- he probably popped the top staple during the process, since he mentioned that the cover was completely attached in his original description, THEN he added the inside front cover scan. Pic #4 shows the cover still attached at the top staple, while Pic #3 shows it detached -- so he probably did it right there as he scanned the inside front cover. That's always something to worry about on eBay with non comic sellers, especially on a book that will get dozens of questions from bidders -- the seller could very easily damage it (after posting the original pics) due to people asking to count the pages/check for restoration/take extra pics/etc. You are absolutely correct about the detached staple probably occurring during the photo session. Personally, I think this copy looks terrible. Those tape pulls are giants, that's all my eyes focus on. The inside cover and pages look very toasty, bordering on starting to be brittle. This is the kind of book that would arrive with pieces at the bottom of the bag and board. Anyone that buys this book is simply over anxious or settling for something they will regret. The upper staple could be barely attached...we don't know for sure. For a starter book, it looks ok to own. I'm amazed it has surpassed the 10k level. Here's to AF15. The upper staple may still be attached to the Back cover but I think it's pretty clear it is not attached to the Front Cover. There is a 0 feedback bidder arm wrestling with a 6 feedback bidder. I think the real bidders stopped at around 5K.

  6. Great set! Was the 3rd print a local pick-up? Yes, it was.
  7. For some reason this book is very difficult to find in grade.
  8. I usually don't buy slabbed Moderns but I really like this book......
  9. I finally got a 3rd Print to complete the Hulk 377 trio.
  10. The seller explained that the take it in the thread was posted before the take it via PM. The seller mistakenly thought the PM guy and the thread guy were the same person and gave the PM guy his PP. Sounds like an innocent mixup. I know but the buyer was a newbie and he said he paid before the other guy posted. I just think the fair thing to do would have been to honor the paid sale. I felt sorry for the newbie. Think about it from his standpoint, he paid, deal completed. He was very disappointed.
  11. There is a current, active sales thread where someone took a book via PM and PAID for it, however, he did not post the I'll Take It in the thread. The book was awarded to a different buyer who did post it in the thread. Two comments, the seller's original post only stated first I'll Take It wins. It was changed(edited) after the drama to first I'll Take It in the Thread wins. The seller must have given the first buyer his Paypal address. Doesn't this imply an acceptance by the seller = the deal was completed ? The seller is a long time Boardie, good guy. Personally, I think the guy that paid won the book. Part of the problem is the seller is not marking his books as Sold. You have to read the whole thread to see if someone else already bought it.
  12. I think many have a grade range in their heads and assign a price in that ballpark. One of the problems with assigning grades is even CGC can grade the same book differently on different days. So how is a lowly board member supposed to? I think large, clear f/b scans and descriptions about any hard to see defects like ncbs would be enough for an experienced collector. I plan on doing some selling in the future and I will take that approach and probably give a general range (like 9.2 - 9.4) etc as best I can. Assuming the seller posts pics of his offerings ! I'm amazed at this latest fad of not posting pics. I'm even more amazed Boardies are buying.
  13. Since you are addressing the Boards, shouldn't the question read 'How many Board members are Overstreet Advisers' ?
  14. That cover is so white! Great looking 7.0. I agree, I really like this copy. Congrats !
  15. Nice copy of a tough book. I was fortunate to have this in my raw collection and got it slabbed. Maybe I wasn't looking but I don't think I've ever seen one offered in grade. Congrats !
  16. Old labels have been on fire in recent Clink auctions, going for up to double GPA. Some collectors, like myself, value originality. The book looks really good in that slab. Just giving you something to consider.
  17. Great seller name for this auction to boot! I've bought from them several times... Great books, solid grading and very inexpensive shipping. They have a lot of followers and tend to get really solid prices. Comics4less is a not only a solid seller, they also grade very tight. I never see them grade anything higher than 9.2 . Often, their 9.2's are as high as 9.6's. I think they get a lot of repeat customers that know this and maybe bid higher than normal for a 9.2 . All the bids for that book are from established bidders with 3 digits in their feedback. I'm not saying this wasn't a crazy price but it looked like a really nice copy, a really strong 9.2.
  18. Love this book, love this pedigree. Now, do me one favor ? Please sort your Showcase collection on Myslabbedcomics please. It's more fun to look at the series in a sequential order. (thumbs u
  19. It 'only' had OW/W pages. It was just graded last year and sold three times last year, with the first two sales more in line with the average. I don't think it was legit. It's obviously easy to fake a sale on Ebay these days. It's not GPA'a fault but many of these sales are not actually happening.
  20. Cool books. Yes, one's first CGC experience is generally a mixture of excitement and disappointment. Be glad they are all in Blue Labels ! Read the Grader notes on the Sensation, that should explain what you did not see.
  21. Ray, while I would concur about the 'possibility' of a fake sale, there is absolutely no way to monitor it. I would ask the same question as Wombat here, what do you want to happen ?
