  1. That is an amazing looking book. Congrats, Bob! Thanks, much appreciated. Trust me, I had to step up to the plate to acquire it.
  2. This has one of the whitest back covers for a mid-60's Marvel I have ever seen.
  3. Small Group shot, just got the Rawhide Kid 22 today. Kirby !!!!
  4. Ten cent Charlton being discussed in a hot comics thread. I like it !
  5. I feel the same way. She's not doing it for me.
  6. That's a very cool book but, per the cert number on the label, how can it be 'Just Back from CGC' ?
  7. As a buyer, this reference would attract my attention. If accurate, it's good information but it should not be used loosely. Occasionally, very occasionally, I will open a book and think Bone White pages.
  8. I just bought two raw books from Tom. An all around excellent transaction. Great communication, quick and safe shipping, and most importantly great books ! Thanks again Tom !
  9. Sorry to hear about the damage. I cringed when I read that. There was nothing on top of the book inside the package ? Usually the top book is face down and at least you have the backing board as protection. Again, sorry to hear this.
  10. Actually, no. First off, it's not like ASM is currently undervalued. Also, there have been enough Spidey movies where another one won't give ASM a bump on a broad scale. Certain issues, first appearances etc will get bumped but not necessarily #1. ASM 1 is a money in the bank, slow moving upward trend type of book. I don't see a big jump coming.
  11. Good stuff ! Loving that Showcase 34, nice grade and page quality. ASM 11 is one of the toughest books in the run to find in a decent grade. Show us some pics when you get them.
  12. Dave, great books. I like the new focus in your collection. (thumbs u The first book, Amazing Mysteries, is an incredible cover, could be designated as Classic.
  13. Sometimes you can understand when casting makes a mistake. Maybe the actor looks the part but the personality didn't satisfy, sort of like Ben Afleck for DD. However, in this case I don't know what casting is thinking. She does not look like Wonder Woman. When you are that skinny to begin with you may be able to add a few pounds and tighten up but she will still look petite. I'm sorry to say this will be worse than Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern. Not a good choice at all.
  14. +1 I think this is only the second copy I've seen with White pages. Very rare. I hope it's a keeper. Whatever you do, don't resubmit it for fear of losing the PQ. The PQ probably adds more value than a minor grade bump.
  15. +1 Jim is great ! If you go to his store in Downers Grove, you will be treated with respect and integrity. Graham Crackers has something like nine stores. If you can't find something at any one store, they can usually track it down for you from one of the other stores and ship it for free to your local shop. Their service is top notch.
  16. And your point here is ..... ? The Boards still have integrity. It's a tough crowd!
  17. This is the second time I purchased books from Jon. A great seller. Easy to work with, excellent communication, and safe packaging. A++++ all around.
  18. Yes, the buyer hit a home run but only with the grade. Personally, I didn't like the looks of that copy at all. There was writing in the DC logo so that turns off some people. The poor page quality and dust shadows on the FC will turn off more people. I suspect the BC is really brown, the top edge is pretty ragged. It did have nice registration but otherwise it was not very appealing for a 7.0 .
  19. Yeah, just noticed your user name change...this book was never going to remain in the old label holder so you'll have to repost the "new and improved" version when you get it back. (thumbs u I didn't notice the name change. Now that I know it is John, our comments about keeping it in the old label are laughable. I will admit John, under his new ID, seems to have a different attitude. I never would have guessed. I'm impressed !
  20. That's a really nice looking book. If it's a keeper, why not just leave it alone? It looks so good in the old label. Nice Page quality also, I would be concerned of about retaining it. An AF15 still in the old label is truly rare. I wouldn't give it up. I believe there is a premium on this book just the way it sits. Honestly, think this through.
  21. Thanks! I added the back cover scans. I got this from Collectors_Comics on eBay, who I believe have had some criticisms lobbed their way. I don't know if they are justified, this was my first purchase from them - so hopefully no surprises. There's a very light stain on the top-right back cover. That stain will probably keep it lower than 7.0 . Still a nice book.
