  1. Everybody had those back then. Nakamichi.......
  2. Boba, my point was that you are also paying for the value of the comic. Over 1K books are supposed to go into an Express Tier regardless of the TAT. Also, TAT only starts when the book is officially Received by CGC. You seem to be arguing that the actual shipping and receiving times of Express books should be faster than Standard. You did not pay for that to happen. You dropped them off at the con to get free shipping. In this case, you got what you paid for. Again, sorry. I've known you on the Boards for a long time. I don't want to disrespect you. I just don't understand your complaint here.
  3. Wow, great copy, old label goodness too !
  4. Then, according to the rules, no book with a value of over 1K could be submitted at a con. Serious question regarding the Express Tier: Are you paying the extra money because of the value of the books or the turnaround time ? Sure, you can put an expensive book into a Standard tier and hope CGC doesn't bump your invoice but it's a gamble. If you wait the Standard tier turnaround time and they bump the cost to Express you will feel like it's a waste of money. I'm sorry but if CGC did indeed receive 12,000 books at the convention I can understand the backup. I would rather see them safely get the books to Sarasota and do a good job of grading. To me, the quality of the work is more important than the speed. Sorry.
  5. Logistically, how exactly would this be accomplished ? Even if they collected the books and grouped them by tiers, all integrity would be lost upon handing them off to the shipper. Asking CGC to sort 12,000 books by tiers seems like a monumental task when they are trying to go home.
  6. Correct me if I am wrong but regardless of the tier, even Walkthru, the countdown will not start until the books are received. By Received, I mean processed by shipping and entered into the system. If shipping had 100 boxes from the show to open, I can see them getting behind. Sorry but I'm not seeing the problem here.
  7. Here's the ORIGINAL Batgirl. I love the way they drew back then.
  8. Are there any rules or guidelines for Board Auctions ? I thought there had to be a BIN price and there was a time restriction but I can't find anything. Please advise.
  9. This is not a Want To Buy forum, fool. Christ its like you have a business IQ of an infant. Everywhere on the boards is WTB. Think about it logically hippie. If a shrewd investor like SOT has a WTB for TOS 39, the book must be in the early stages of hoarding, waiting for a breakout. I don't see many being offered for sale.
  10. In the past, Overstreet was usually quoted for raw books, but I don't think that apllies anymore. Today's marketplace is too dynamic. Here's the problem with using GPA for raw. The owner is still giving an opinion on grade. In all probablilty, the book will grade less than that opinion. Add to that the cost of shipping, slabbing, shipping, and time spent, I think raw should sell for considerably less than GPA.
  11. You really should get it graded. Most buyers would not spend big bucks on a raw, maybe a dealer but they would need a discount to FMV.
  12. +many! +++++++ Great job. All these books have great eye appeal.
  13. Beltan answered a WTB thread I posted looking for JLA's. After a very pleasant negotiation I bought 3 high grade JLA's. Beltan safely shipped the books immediately. The books were great, as well as the packaging and I am very pleased. My highest recomendation for R100comics !
  14. Loving the Winnipegs with Sigs. A very underrated and early pedigree.
  15. It i a 9.6 Gaines file. Now that's rare I don't think he realized you were asking about Showcase 1, maybe he thought you meant his Kamandi or something. The highest graded SC 1 is 'only' a 9.0 . I think the 9.0 Showcase 1 is the Northland copy ?
  16. It's been previously discussed on the Boards that CGC considers more than just the color of the paper when assigning the PQ. Suppleness, texture, etc.
  17. In this case,I don't think the pedigree will help much, if at all. I've owned some raw Mohawk Valleys and the insides are very toasty. I remember the PQ as not so much cream but a terrible looking yellow. CR/OW is still an instant pass for me, rare or not. Sorry.
  18. It's possible. I sure have seen some of these books from this collection being sold lately. Is this a newly discovered collection? From my understanding, Heritage bought these books directly from Maggie Thompson and they have been auctioning it off. The bigger books sold first and the 'dreg' is being auctioned off slowly in their weekly auctions.
  19. It's not the affluence of the buyers, it's the influence of Marvel. Before Marvel, kids would read their DC, grow up and forget about them, life called. Marvel was more influential, the characters had real personalities, kids grew up but never forgot about the characters.DC kids liked their comic books but Marvel kids loved them.
  20. Either I (accidentally) changed something or they did, but PP has started charging me a fee if I pay using a cc rather than my bank account. I don't think anything has changed, it's always been that way ?
  21. I tell ya, I'm really liking these Don & Maggie books. They are so fresh in hand. I assumed the books were bought 2nd hand because of the 'collection' designation but I wonder if they bought some of these directly off the stands ?
