  1. Those Suicide Squad issues are tough in any grade. The CGC census reflects this: #25 10 in Census, Highest Graded 9.2 #26 3 in Census, Highest Graded 7.5 #27 9 in Census, Highest Graded 9.2 Congrats on some great books.
  2. Excellent all around transaction with MCMiles as the seller. Lightning fast shipping and great packaging. Double boxed and he used a wrap intead of tape around the bubble wrap = easier to unpack. My highest recommendations. Thanks Mike.
  3. Nice copy of a great book, I love that cover. I distinctly remember reading it as a kid, at night in my parent's car.
  4. The #72 is extremely tough in the high grades. The census shows only one in 9.8 . Congrats on a great pickup !
  5. I bought a couple high grade Spideys from Andre, CAMPUED1010, on the boards and picked them up at C2E2. Having the opportunity to meet Andre in person was a pleasure, he is a true stand up guy. The books were outstanding and Andre gets my highest recommendation as a Seller.
  6. I didn't see any. For my personal collection I was only looking for a high grade #18 and I did not find one of those either.
  7. I asked a number of dealers at C2E2 about the demand for Green Lantern. The consensus was #7 is the issue everyone is asking about. Sinestro aside, #7 has always been the most difficult to find.
  8. House of Mystery 84 Doom Patrol prototype for Negative Man..
  9. Humidity is a big factor. Minimally, without AC, I would use a dehumidifier in the room.
  10. Excellent first post on the Boards. Welcome. That book has it all, White pages, nicely centered and a 9.8. I hope it's a keeper ! Congrats.
  11. I agree. 7.5 is sometimes a catch all for an otherwise higher grade book in the 8.5/9.0 arena with a flaw like this tear. Remember, in theory, the grade CGC assigns is the highest grade they feel they can safely assign. They don't seem to feel comfortable assigning an 8.0 with a significant tear so 7.5 is often what you get. When making a purchase, I think 7.5's are the best bargain as you can often get a high grade looking book on the cheap because of one flaw. BTW, an extremely nice looking book.
  12. Looks like a solid 8.5 to me. I would check with the graders' notes to see whether anyone gave it a 9.2 on the first go round. If yes, crack it, pancake it, and resub it. FYI, if it was submitted with an Economy Tier they no longer keep grader's notes. I see a small corner abrasion bottom left, some spine ticks, and a little stress at the staples. I wouldn't press for fear of damaging those staple stresses, it may cause damage. Maybe a 9.2 on a straight resub but probably not worth it. Just enjoy the tremendous eye of this gorgeous 9.0 .
  13. That book looks absolutely terrible. It may be a technical 9.4 but it has no eye appeal.
  14. Obviously they don't want to chance a disputed charge with the Credit Card company. This is a definite Red Flag.
  15. Regarding the signature, I know the Signature Series niche is real popular right now but I just can't understand it. It may be okay on Moderns but I hate to see a key SA book with a Fugly signature on it. Of course this is only my personal opinion but I avoid all SS books. I would rather spend the same money on a higher graded book sans the signature.
  16. That date stamp, Jan 9 is my birthday. Insane copy of a rarely even seen comic.
  17. Nice book. #15 is a tough book to get in a higher grade. I just checked the census and the highest copy is a 9.0 !
  18. I have a raw White Mountain copy of this book. You are correct, it is rare, I have never seen another copy until you posted yours.
  19. Most threads stray from the main topic. This is a great thread, keep it going.
  20. Always a pleasure to see your books. I am quite envious, you have a fine collection.
  21. Originally this upset me also as it gave the appearance of an auction via PM's but after getting an explanation from the Seller it is obvious this was not his intent. In fact the Seller appears to be a stand up guy and I am looking forward to new offerings from him. However, though they technically did nothing wrong, I am disappointed with some of our fellow boardies that never gave him a chance to offer the books to us.
  22. I agree that the #8 could have sold for more, that is a nice looking book. I think your #7 is priced just right. #15 should sell soon. It's a tough book with highest graded in 9.4 .
  23. Congrats, that was a great pickup. I saw it a while back and I was tempted. I'm surprised it lasted this long. Slobodians are generally really nice copies in hand.
  24. One of my all time favorites. Looks like a nice copy, congrats. It's not a tough book to find but difficult in a decent grade. This book was on the stands when I was born, many years ago.
  25. Chris, cool book. That's highest graded !
