  1. Never found anything on IG. Can anyone update me please.
  2. Not seeing much progress on my status and couldn't find a single discussion in the forums. Did the event ever happen? Submissions needed to be in by 6/30.
  3. Received 11/08 Got my Spawn 1 today. Love the gold marker. I setup FedEx signature delivery & wasn't thrilled to see the box just lying on the doorstep when I ditched work early today. My ASM 300 is still marked as "received by CCS"
  4. Wow, that's a really awesome book & set of signatures. I never thought about SS from a multi signature standpoint. I should have sent that book in. Completely forgot about that pair of books. Thanks for the insight everyone. Definitely gives me a different perspective now.
  5. Sent in a few books for this event and I have really been enjoying this thread and the whole McFarlane SS buildup & execution. Bravo CGC Team & Todd and everyone posting. This was a BIG first for me, and I did learn a lot of do’s & dont’s for the next time. First time submitting, shipping, signature series, CCS pressing, etc. I can firmly state that I am not really interested in the monetary value of the final slabs I submitted. But we all know that’s not entirely true. Even though I am a collector and covet my prized possessions, there’s no fooling that most of these comics were acquired for long term collectibility and growth in value. So here’s my question….Was the price of the SS & grading/pressing worth it? For me, no…..but for very different reasons. Let me start by saying that I’m older and have no reservations spending top dollar to get a TM signature and CGC grading without even having to put on pants. Great product & service. Take my money. This time around, I actually really regret not going to a comic con, waiting in line, meeting the artist and watching them sign MY comic. The SS process lost its romance for me, and I don't know how I’ll look at that slab every day in my display and feel the same about other stuff on the wall. All my other autographs were signed in person & I interacted with greats like Stan Lee, Jim Lee & the usual suspects from the early 90’s. I know full well that those signatures aren’t valid to anyone else, but they sure are to me. I was there! There will be a sense of accomplishment and sadness when I get my ASM #300 Newsstand back from CCS. It was never gonna be anywhere near a 9.8, and I’m prepared for the final grade….gulp…. What’s cool is that I purchased these comics 30+ years ago, waiting for my chance to get them autographed. Its amazing that the 11 year old me knew to preserve these pieces of history through years of life changes, puberty, substances, new addresses, hurricanes, floods, marriage, kids, etc. Especially when EVERYONE around you tells you to unload your collection. Can anyone else relate to this? Spawn #1 came in at 9.0 BTW. Ouch, lol.
  6. Thanks for the information. I appreciate it. Comics made it to Sarasota, so its just the waiting game at this point.
  7. Glad to hear everyone is safe & CGC is reopening this week. I’m getting ready to send comics down for an in house signing. Slightly concerned if infrastructure is an issue with shipping. Is there any info or preferred shipper I should be using in the wake of the storm? I’m planning to wait another week or so, allowing things to settle down, before shipping.
  8. Hey all, been lurking for years and finally going to send in some comics. I have a few questions and would appreciate some of your wisdom, experience & lessons learned. They’ll be going in for the McFarlane signing and I selected to have my Amazing Spider-Man #300 pressed. Comic Prep & Shipping: - I plan on taking high res scans of F&R covers, and photos of inside pages, before packing them up. Is there anything else I should be doing for my files/documentation? - I purchased the small box kit & window bags, which I received very quickly (thanks cgc). The instructions mention the “in house private signing card”. All I have is a packing slip to print. Where should I be looking for the in house private signing card? - Any other tips for packing & shipping? I’ll be sending from NY to FL. Not in love with Fedex and will probably end up using USPS with upgraded services….I just don't love the P.O. Box scenario, versus UPS onsite delivery. Any feedback? - Comics need to be received in early November. Any benefit to sending them out immediately, vs waiting till the end of October? After shipping to CGC: - I am guessing the book will wait in queue to be signed, then sent off for pressing, then grading/encapsulation….does that sound right? I am expecting a 9 month turnaround from what I’ve read here (though press release states 8 week turnaround with pressing). Would you recommend anything to improve my process? Available upgrades, etc? - If there is anything impactful that you think I may have missed, I would greatly appreciate any tips you all can offer. Thanks.
