What I hate about Claims of Stolen Comics is what is to prevent me from walking into a convention, LCS, Craiglist purchase, Garage Sale purchase, etc etc then having some insufficiently_thoughtful_person claim they own the book a year later. I am sorry but in this hobby there is just no way to prove a 100% that the book was or was not stolen. If I bought a Book from a Garage Sale for instance and some guy or gal claims that that is the same book stolen from them a year ago, I am like sorry for luck but A. you cannot prove it was stolen, just saying so is not good enough and B. You cannot prove you owned that book to begin with, and even if you had a receipt how do I know you did not sell the book and later yell Stolen?. That my friends is the problem with this hobby very little in the way of a paper trail. Besides, any thief that knows anything about this hobby will simply crack it out of the case, resubmit it and get a new registry number or send it to the other grading company which would be cheaper to grade and no one would be on the lookout for that book in a P*X case. That being said anyone caught red handed stealing should be not charged with a crime or jailed. Just pick a group of collectors stick them in a room for a few 10 min. and Justice would have been served.

I have to admit, way to many Unique flaws for it not to be the same book, that is without and beyond a shadow of doubt the same exact book. 100% positively, without a doubt GUILTY of the accusation. There is no appeal, admit the truth and throw yourself on the mercy of the forums or disappear.

Thats a shame, I saw that the other night and was debating it at the time, I am so glad I did not go for it. I guess I am going to stay away from buying raw off the boards unless they are cheap books

I hesitate to buy 9.8's unless they are really priced right. I am so worried that most of them are restored by that restoration technique known as pressing. Its a shame CGC cannot detect it and give the books the Purple label that Pressed books rightly deserve. Old labels I feel a lot safer then the newer labels.

It's a complaint thread for non-payment and non-delivery - it's not a "he calimed it was NM and it was only a VF+" complaint thread, but thanks for asking. The "alleybat fiasco" was added by another board member, but I have no reason from what I've seen to question the veracity of the poster or circumstances which led to its inclusion here. Actually I do not care what you think about my level of treading comprehension. This complaint belongs here, period. There is no point in multiple probation threads for bad buyers/sellers and since there is already a person listed as a scammer then it stands to reason that scammers belong here.

I am confused. A buyer posted a complaint, the consensus is it is a valid complaint. The title of this thread is Probation Thread: for forum sales problems. Seems like this is a problem again the consensus here is the seller ripped off the buyers. Seems to me this is EXACTLY the proper place for this be posted, and it seems the seller should be added to the probation thread. So why is this not the place to report scams from sellers on the forums, and why is the seller not listed? It looks like possibly a member who has been around a long time may be getting a free pass,

This is NOT cool. Times are tough all around and this piece of dirt comes along, knowing what he was doing not only scammed and committed fraud, but taking money knowing he was being dishonest is plain stealing. This dirtbag has been exposed and frankly should never be allowed to sell here ever again.

This is true. I bought Number 1 and 21 last year and they are going well over what I paid for them, and at that time I paid higher then normal for that time. Maybe non keys or certain issues are not doing as well, but I know # 1, # 21, # 150-155 are still fetching higher amounts then last year.

I hadn't even noticed there has been any movie hype? Seriously, prices have been plummeting on many Joe books....too much oversupply at the moment, and not enough buyers. Two big culprits for that are the 1). the Economy and 2). Paramount not yet releasing a full length trailer for the Joe flick. I mean, c'mon...many Summer blockbusters have a teaser trailer out 6 months to a year beforehand...yet, here we are just four months away from The Rise of Cobra and nothing but a 15-second clip from the Superbowl to go on. I think the rumors about how terrible its going to be might just be true.... Where do you get the idea that the prices are plummeting? All th key Joe Books are selling more then double last years price, a quick look at ebay completed auctions will shed light on that fact. Maybe the non key books are not so much, but # 1, 21, 26, 27, 145-155 are all hot books

I am disappointed with the direction of the movie went with the toons. So I am pretty sure when the buss dies down, the books will come down.

2nd Print Comparisons

First Prints I picked up 26, 27 and 150 (18,18,25 bucks)

Well issue 21 does not have much "reading" to it. But I did find a issue 26 and 27 in back issue stock Saturday that had a low price. Actually I do not think the dealer was aware of what I was buying, when I got home realized I bought a double, oh well I might go back and buy his # 21 for 20 bucks though, maybe try to talk him lower.

I have a 21, perfect shape except.....it has a bend at the top corner, not huge, but makes me hesitate submitting it.

Of course not, he is probably asking way to much to make it worth flipping, even if you kept the best of the lot and flipped the others, it most likely is not worth it.

At the current bid price is it a value now and the reserve is not met.

I think I forgot the Kudos to count for the huge stack of ASM's I bought. I hope I funded his next purchase well.
