Not quite as good as your 22 8.5 and 23 8.5 but it has nice pages and is still available. Surprised someone here didn't pluck this one at only 1 1/2 XPG

....And it's back....
Just like Marvel Comics #1, a cool book to have once that nobody wants to really own for the long haul.
..same seller relist
Just like a MC #!.

Well folks, looks like I have a ticket to the clubhouse!
FYI: The owner and I ended up working out a deal for a little less than the BIN listed on this auction listing.
Welcome to the 3rd best comic owner club in the entire hobby, next in line to only Action #1 and Detective Comics #27. (thumbs u

Holy
Someone just got a bump out ot this.
Holy ! That is a hefty price for a 4.0 - 5.0 book. I bet that when the buyer gets this book in hand he does this:
-
US $12,369.99
Will look great with my 23 7.5.
Congrats on adding another one to the hoard of the best DC SA book by a longshot.
-
If it ends in the $11,000s, then it is likely a case of the bidders chasing the book, not the label. (thumbs u

structurally the book looks nice, but that "olive" green ...nothing personal (I diss on my own books too!), but man o man I wouldn't want that copythat is my concern...how can a grading company, any grading company, give a grade better than VG on a book that extremely faded...I mean, there is no "greeN" at all, that I can seeWell, isn't he called Olive Lantern?
Agreed on the olive color. I think one of my previous 4.0s had the same issue. Structurally, a very nice book, but I even had people up here ask what the difference was between it and the color on my lowly 2.5.

Man! Ive got to get myself a S22 finally. This thread is the only one that gets consistent action in the Silver forum!
Better do it now before the prices really take off next spring prior to the movie.
-
with that fading, I would have a hard time calling it higherAs long as it came back an honest grade.....In my opinion it would be a better grade that what it received from cgg compared to alot of the other graded 22's out there for sale.....I was wondering if it was faded or the scan was not leveled correctly
Looks like fading to me as well.

Hard to tell from the pics, but based on the color showing on your copy it might have some fading. That will probably get hit hard by CGC. The crease/tear middle bottom edge on the front cover will be an issue as well. Also, if it has any stains/smudges they will be harsher than PGX/CGG.

this is the CGC boards, not that other company...no need to post that pic hereHello everyone....I wanted to put a pic of my showcase 22 on here but no scanner and I couldn't figure out how to do a pic....Anyways I just put it on Ebay...item #120657634129
Enjoy it....
now, crack it and submit it to the authority on grading, and it would be a pleasure to see it here (thumbs u
AND..........as a warning, don't expect the same grade.
-
Does that mean you are a member of the club now?
-
Looks like SC #22 is starting to take off again..........
-
Surprised too it received a 7.5 grade with all that creasing at the bottom right corner.. Looks 6.0 at best
That is my thought as well, maybe a 6.5 on a generous day.
-
Nice copy of #24. (thumbs u
-
I don't mean to offend the owner if he is here, but how the heck did that book get a 7.5 with all of that creasing in the bottom right corner? Add in the soft upper corners, creases and light surface rubbing along the spine, what appears to be light surface wear/smudging on the middle of the right edge, and that looks like an aggressive grade to me.

Showcase #24?
Showcase #23?
-
Not really, just nicer than the last one, and at a decent price. (thumbs u

Back on topic, I will be a member of the club again.

Showcase #24?

Thanks! No plans to get it graded, costs too much, no plans to sell, and I hate the thought of breaking up my Mohawk set even for a few weeks. The 24 is a beauty! with even less tanning and much better page quality. Don't know why but there seems to be lesser paper quality used in just issue 22.
Tim once said on this thread that he's seen CGC 9.6s with tanning so you never know what those guys are going to throw your way.....I love the sharp corners even with the slight wear...the Gary Keller copy is missing corner bits especially top and bottom spine. Maybe I should rip bits off the corners and get rid of the wear that way and get a 9.0 And while I'm picking on that copy, it has a stamp on the back cover.
Nice book and thanks for sharing! (thumbs u

Not sure, but the small collection that had the top SC #4 stopped before the really big book, SC #22.
-
Which pedigree is it from? We would love to see it. (thumbs u

I've seen fraudulent slabbed books where the book in the well was changed.
If the guy is allegedly committing fraud on raw books, why wouldn't he try it on slabbed books?
RoboJ was switching books as well? How easy is it to do that?
