  1. There needs to be an atom-age forum.
  2. It's treading in strange waters. It's a great looking 6.0. This could be the nicest existing copy, or there could be 4 others out there better. But who knows if you'll ever see them.
  3. The $4050 offer is gone, does that mean it sold?
  4. Yowza. https://www.comiclink.com/itemdetail.asp?back=%2Fcgc.asp%3F_SORT%3DYES%26Graded%3D%26f1%3DListDate%26ODire1%3DDESC%26f2%3Di.IssueNumber%2C%2Bi.VolumeNumber%26ODire2%3DASC%26f3%3DLeft(i.Condition%2C4)%26ODire3%3DASC%26pg%3D2&id=1770153
  5. Agreed. But to the OP's point, they need to clarify what the exact defect is. If there was a 2.0 and they gave the grader's notes of "poorly handled" that wouldn't be helpful.
  6. Peter, do you remember which was the first of these issues you got and when?
  7. The DC squarebounds went nuts this round.
  8. Collecting high-grade 50s books is really strange. The nicest copy in existence could be a 7.5, but the old collectors have no incentive to slab so you'll never know. There were just a handful of exceptionally nice DCs that went through the weekly and this signature auction that were evidently from 5 different sources (what are the odds?). Most of those issues had never been available in those grades publicly. We're now talking 24 years of CGC, GPA, Heritage archives, etc. And it's taken this long for an 8.0 or 9.0 to hit the market. But if it sells for $4300 and now the guy who owns the WM copy gets a 9.2 and you're hosed... but it's been over 20 years of waiting! Do you wait for that one to come out... if it ever does? And if it does, will it now go for twice that?
  9. In my experience it's collectors. I know several people eager to bid on several of these and willing to go high.
  10. Yeah, it has a certain campy coolness, but there are many other covers in the run I would prefer.
  11. Strange Adventures 79 in CGC 9.4 W at $14,400 has to be considered here as well.
  12. I watched the Sgt Rock live. It was like a prize fight, just bid after bid after bid. Sometimes it's someone chasing up a big existing bid, but this was 2 guys fighting it out.
