  1. It's called the K economy for a reason; some industries and jobs have actually benefitted from COVID. And then, for those that haven't suffered, there are many people with a lot more discretionary money than before! I own a cottage in the Quebec mountains, I've had it rented all winter long when I've never had any inquiries before about winter rentals. People are spending money in different ways now, and I think this is also why there's a lot of new money coming into the hobby - not just stimulus money, people that got into comics from sitting a home bored one day. And of course, interest rates are so ridiculously cheap the cost of borrowing has made discretionary spending that much more open.....
  2. I sold an AF15 last month locally, that never made its way to GPA.....there are always outliers.
  3. Sounds like you're trying to get a cheap price from a seller - ain't gonna happen. LOL
  4. FFS!! I would lose my mess on the seller.....way to go ultra cheap on 20k sale, not too mention the risk of damage.
  5. Oh! And I hope that book wasn't mailed to you in a bubble wrap envelope!!!!
  6. Wow, show's over - you win the thread!
  7. (232) South Park: Mr. Grazier - YouTube Mr. Grazier is on board!
  8. That's good efficiency....but I looked at a lot of the guys in the comic room thread and they ain't finding anything in under ten minutes.....maybe a hidden pile of cat puke, but that's about it.
  9. I find these type of arguments are always a battle with wives.....I had to convince my better half to get internet at the cottage, and now it's completely booked solid for the winter - which will pay all the taxes and utilities for the year. Same thing with comics, first thing is - why don't you sell it. Well, I'm not selling my X-Men 1 because it goes up in value every year. And I don't want to and you can't make me!
  10. A lot more than anytime recently because the US dollar is in this toilet!
  11. Bone 1 CGC 7.5 sold for $1800+ CAD! GPA showing two sales above 13k in 9.8! If that isn't heating up, I don't know what is!
  12. Well as long as this wasn't your rainy-day/car-repair fund......lol
  13. Amazing 1, should not be selling for more than X-men 1!!
  14. Great Xmas gifts for the grand kids/nieces nephews right there.....vrroooommmm! Post a video of them playing with it!
  15. Beauty book!! I have quite a few UK silver and bronze books, including X-Men 100. They tend to sell for a discount, not a premium, but regardless that was an excellent buy!
  16. X-Men 1 was a very under-rated key for a long, long time.....funny local story, a guy I know has a beauty 6.0! A couple years back I tried to workout a cash and trade deal, last I heard he still has it. Several years back he offered it locally (on the can. craigslist Kijiji) for 2k CAD - which was a bargain to the going rate (I think going rate was around $2500). He had so many low ball offers, even some cheap that offered him $1900, so he declined them all and kept it - sometimes the best decision you make, is not pulling the trigger on a deal!
  17. Unless there's a comic digger in there to shield the load. I'm waiting for the day someone posts a pic of a pile of collapsed comic shelving, with a pair of legs sticking out like the Wicked Witch of the East!
  18. Might be interested in those spawns! That Tec Jacket has taken off, sold a VF copy for $35 in July. :P It took a long time to sell too.....
  19. Are your boxes all shorts? How many would you say you have, and is it easy to pull down the ones on the top shelf? I love the total space you have, it's like a functional warehouse (speaking of which last night I drove past the local Amazon warehouse, it might be the largest industrial/commercial building I've ever seen!).
  20. I think in the antique threads someone (1Cool?) posted about falling down shelving while digging for comics! Don't let that individual in! LOL
