  1. But seriously, when discussing remasters, it gets to a point where I can't really tell a difference, you know? I know that there are hardcore folks out there who can tell if a single line is out of register, but I'm not that picky. I dislike glued spines on big books, and gutter loss, so upgrading binding can be a selling point that I'll fall for. But by and large, as long as the stories are all there, and I can read 'em, I'm satisfied.
  2. Ha, they have our number and they know it! I can't imagine that they do amazing sales on these collections, but they can practically guarantee that they can prey upon the nostalgia and completist-fetishism of 1500 or so nerds several times a year, so they'll keep releasing, rereleasing, and re-rereleasing! But I'm done with a lot of this stuff. Pretty much the only reprints I buy these days are the ones that I foolishly sold in the past. They got me twice, they won't get me again! (Fast forward a few months/years, and I will of course have rebought all of this stuff again, because I'm a weak, weak man.)
  3. Way to go! You keep grabbing those 2nd prints before I see 'em!
  4. My wife calls the CGC boards "your little friends", and I've decided to live with that.
  5. Sure thing! I'm pretty sure I posted the last time it came back up for sale, but didn't get a response. Of course, there's a lot going on here, on any given day, so I don't expect people to stop the presses when I post. ha But I will keep doing my best to keep everyone informed of deals I run across!
  6. Yeah, once I missed it back in the spring, I assumed that was that. Then one day back in the fall I saw a random posting on MMW that it was back in stock. It lasted for two or three weeks, which was surprising.
  7. This should be my final go-round on the classic X-Men stuff. I used to have the omni's of X-Men 1 & 2, sold them way back when. Now that I have this set, I won't be buying the omnis again, whenever they get around to reissuing them. What I like about this set is that it's supposed to be the definitive collection, organizing every single appearance of the X-Men characters. I've since read that there may be an issue of Marvel Team Up that is missing, but otherwise this is supposed to have everything, all in order, so I'm excited about that. In fact, the "Lost Years" volume is probably going to be the first I'll read, as I've read the regular X-Men stories several times by this point.
  8. Did Santa bring anyone some pretty reading material today? Between the wife, my folks, and the in-laws, I did pretty well! Man, these Swamp Thing Absolutes are lovely. That mossy flocking material on the covers is such a nice touch. Also tickled to finally have the X-Men Children of the Atom box set in hand. It's pretty sharp!
  9. Looks like Hasbo is re-issuing the Vintage Collection Slave 1, should release in June. Interested to see what it does to prices in the meantime. Also glad I’ll get another shot, which I’ll also probably waffle on, until it sells out a second time.
  10. Thanks as always @DR.X for this great holiday tradition!
  11. Well I don't think there's any chance lightning will strike twice, so I'm not going to overthink it this year. So I'll just say $575 and leave it there. Good luck everybody!
  12. I think we may have talked about this before once upon a time, but I loved these figures. I had the whole series when I was a kid. I got them from an aunt who must have gotten them on clearance, because she got me the entire figure line, and she wasn't one to spend much money. I had no idea who Flash Gordon was, hadn't seen the cartoon, and I don't think the movie was out yet at that point, so I had no frame of reference for the toys. But I LOVED them. So colorful. I just added them to my Star Wars play. I'd love to get a set of them again, but they're a little pricier than I'd expected. Maybe some day. That card art is so colorful and cool, love it!
  13. Hey @01TheDude and @Comics4All thanks so much for the pages! Got busy last night setting up a virtual xmas party with friends, haven't been on fir a little bit. Originally, I thought since I won last year, the gentlemanly thing to do would be to sit this year out. But, on second thought, I'm no gentleman so let me get my guess together...
  14. I think it's definitely cheesy, but a lot of fun. And I think they did a decent job with Swampy's suit in the first one.
  15. Since we now know the identities of our mods, can I just take a moment to mention how handsome and/or beautiful you're looking today? Also, please disregard anything I've ever said about moderation. I'm sure I was just joking. Again, you're looking great!
  16. Craven's movie isn't great, but I also have a place for it in my heart. Plus Adrienne Barbeau, and her Barbeaus. Hubba! The Return of Swamp Thing, now that one is a turd, though Heather Locklear helps soften the blow, a bit.
  17. I didn't realize until years after the fact that "Beth" was actually Dana DeLorenzo (Ash vs Evil Dead.) Loved both shows and didn't put it together.
  18. I stopped my selling for the year a couple of months back, so as a seller this hasn't been a problem; but as a xmas shopper, it has caused some anxiety. I did most of my online shopping back around Thanksgiving, and still have two packages floating around out there. One is supposed to arrive today. The other? Who knows! Won't be the end of the world if it doesn't get here in time, but it'll be a bit of a bummer. Most of these packages were shipped first class, so no surprises that they're getting hung up (more than one has arrived in my city in a timely fashion, and then sat without moving for a week or more), but one package was shipped Priority from California, and it took 3 1/2 weeks to get here. Interesting times. But as always, my heart is with the employees. It's not their fault, but they are the ones catching all of the heat. My postman is BEAT. They are working them like dogs. It is really rough. So I have nothing but empathy for our delivery people, and if a Christmas present comes a little late, well, it's certainly not the worst thing that happened this year.
  19. For sure! Unlimited is awesome and is 100% the only way to fly if someone just wants to read the story, and doesn’t need to own an object.
  20. Well, yes and no. I guess if you want the absolute, entirely complete story, you'd need the LegionQuest Omnibus, which is the story leading up to AoA (and some of which is reprinted in the AoA Omni) and then you'd need the AoA omni AND the AoA Companion Omni. But that'd be a lot to pay for a story that wouldn't really warrant that much $$$, IMO. But that would get you absolutely everything.
  21. I missed it entirely, wasn't expecting this until next week. Oh well, such is life!
  22. This was a lot of fun to read. Great contest, Buzz. I don't enter because I'm the sort of insufficiently_thoughtful_person who would let their anxiety get out of control, and I'd think about it way too much, and I'd manage to make it not fun, because I'm a crazy person. Congrats to @The Lions Den a class act all around. Boy, you really should consider getting a job grading books one day!
