  1. Holy cats, you coulda just stopped at the Primer and I'd say it was a great day! Congrats!
  2. Do you think they're concerned about it being restored? I just don't understand why you wouldn't slab the book otherwise. EDIT: Never mind, @valiantman 's answer makes sense to me.
  3. Oooh, I hope it works out, be sure to share some pics if you get it, and good luck!
  4. Yeah, it should be hanging on both hooks, but like you said, it looks sorta dilapidated and cool the way it is. I'm ok with it!
  5. Two Rattlers?? Don't you think it's time you shared one with your good friend by the name of me? I collected MISB vehicles for a time a very long time ago, as I really love the box art. But I simply don't have room for that many giant boxes, so these days I mostly just collect loose/complete pieces. More fun to play with anyway! But sealed boxes are still very tempting, again, cuz that artwork is so cool! I don't know that I've ever seen a sealed Rattler. I wouldn't pass it up if I ran across one, but that seems unlikely unless I'm willing to pony up $$$. It's certainly a lovely box. Right now I just need a nice loose example, and am looking to pick one up at the Joe show next month!
  6. Yeah, I love that accessory pack from NECA. Unfortunately the hook on the beam broke instantly so the sign isn't hanging correctly, but the way it is still sorta works. Hoping to hear back from NECA soon about getting a replacement for that beam, as I don't really want to buy another complete set just to get one little piece. Yes, that is the metal case! I have T2 on Laser, DVD, and Blu, but I've always been fond of that particular release. There's a cardboard sleeve version as well, but the metal is where it's at!
  7. Since we were talking about it, my "Hall of Arnolds", and my NECA Jason Shrine, just for good measure.
  8. I don't understand the love for this cover. It's...fine? But a little plain. Oh well, one less thing I have to worry about chasing.
  9. Ok, good to know! I'll just wait a few years until no one cares any more and pick them up at that time. Relieved!
  10. Ha! That reminds me of when I used to post "Check the Scans!" or "Look at the scans!" or wording to that effect, since at the time a lot of people weren't doing actual scans of the books, so you couldn't tell much about condition. I had numerous people ask if they were actually the books, or scans OF the books, that I was selling.
  11. So, as I said earlier, I don't buy most variants, but I do buy Batman. To be more accurate, I buy the variants that DC themselves put out (the "Cover B" variants) but I don't buy store variants and stuff like that. However, I do like being something of a Bat-completist. So, what are the chances that I'll be able to pick all of these stupid variants up for a few bucks in a year or two? Do they normally hold value, or increase? Gah, it's all so gross and dumb. PS: @RockMyAmadeus I'd love to see that Rai 9 pick, it sounds sad/hilarious. Did a quick Google but didn't come up with anything.
  12. Oh yeah, that's a good deal for sure. The T-800 has gotten kinda pricey for sure, and the T-1000 is on its way.
  13. My first memory of 3D comes from my early childhood, probably around age 4 or 5, and the local UHF channel was promoting their showing of "Gorilla at Large" in 3D! They advertised it for WEEKS. And you could pick up your free 3D glasses at your local Convenience store, the same one that sold slush puppies and comic books. I was SO PSYCHED about this, couldn't wait to get my glasses and watch what I could only assume was a great movie in 3D. I even made little tape cassette recordings of myself "reporting" on the fervor surrounding the showing of "Gorilla at Large". This was during the peak of Donkey Kong mania, and they were trying to tie into that gorilla hype. So, relevant to the topic: discover time travel, and transport yourself back to around 1982 or so. You can have my pair, as I won't be needing them, because "Gorilla at Large" turned out to be terrible, and I didn't even watch the whole thing.
  14. Rattler was the first GI Joe vehicle I owned, and I remember that Christmas very fondly. The Target re-release is also nice, although these days it's nearly as pricey as the original. There was a time when you could get them dirt cheap, but those days have passed. Love the box art, great pick-up!
  15. NECA makes such nice stuff. I have all of the Ultimate Arnold figures they've made, including the T-800 from this wave. Super nice stuff.
  16. Anyone else running into issues with Selling Manager or "Seller Hub", or whatever it's called these days? A few weeks ago I was "upgraded" to the Seller Hub, and while I don't like the layout, it at least still worked. So. For a long time now I've had my account set up to automate positive feedback for buyers when they pay. Saves me the time of having to remember to go back in and add it manually (side gripe: I HATE that you now have to add each feedback individually, as opposed to the past when you could just add all of your comments and hit "Submit" to send them all at once). This morning I went in to my feedback to see if I'd forgotten to leave feedback for anything I'd bought. No, nothing there, BUT I noticed that my automated fb for buyers apparently hadn't been working for the last couple of weeks' worth of sales. So, I went through and brought all of that up to date. Grumpily, I might add. So I wanted to go back to my settings and see if maybe this got unchecked or something with the new they're rolling out, but...I can't even get to Seller Hub. I can get to my Seller Dashboard, but if I want to go to "Selling Manager" I have to go to "Seller Hub" (jeeeezus! How many different names for the stuff that should all be grouped in one place) and when I do that, I get an "Oops, something went wrong" error message. TL;DR: Anyone else getting errors on Seller Hub or Selling Manager? Or have their automated feedback shut off?
  17. Now THAT is a cool kid! "Belts? No thanks, I'll just hold my mom jeans up with my freakin' hands!"
  18. My brother! Yes, I feel the kinship. Well, my movie shelves are looking a little more orderly than my comics shelves these days, but things are definitely starting to stack up and overflow. There are several movies that I own in multiple formats. Alien is probably the biggest offender: VHS, THX Laserdisc, Laserdisc Boxed Set, Special Edition DVD, DVD, anniversary edition Blu-Ray, and part of the Alien Anthology Blu-Ray boxed set. It's an illness! For a lot of the movies that I own in multiples, I can justify it by minute differences in the different versions (for instance, one of those Alien DVD's is the last appearance of the original color timing, before they rescanned the negatives and added a different tint) such as theatrical, extended, directors cuts, etc. Sometimes it's just because I dig the packaging. And like I said, media is dirt cheap these days. You can get tons of DVDs and Blus for only a couple of bucks, so I don't feel so guilty about them stacking up.
  19. is there a age restriction on sign-ups? I've never checked. Curious that it's thought of as family friendly, when 99% of the users are old men. Oh well, my family may curse a bit more than others. We're still nice folks.
  20. The F is open to interpretation! As for being respectful towards each other, as long as the profanity in question isn't being directed AT the person, I don't think it's disrespectful. I don't believe in base language. I just believe in language. The notion that words can be considered inherently good or bad is absurd to me, but again, not looking to die on this hill. i don't care enough to make a big deal out of it, I was just running my mouth, albeit in a cleaner fashion than I might if we were speaking in person!
  21. I don't feel a NEED to engage in profanity as much as I NATURALLY engage in profanity, and find myself having to backtrack and delete words that come naturally from my fingers. I can certainly converse without using profanity (I have to hold down a 9 to 5 office job, after all) but I don't see the need to police adults on a message board when every other social media platform allows censorship-free speech. Not really a hill I'm looking to die on, mind you. There are certainly bigger issues with the world (and, indeed, with the boards) than this one, but it's just a particular bee in my bonnet.
