  1. The only thing that beats a yellow cover is a yellow cover with Dave Stevens babes on it. Two of his best. Congrats!
  2. Why you little, I'll redact you! Ok ok, lemme fix it...
  3. Just got the following mass email from Voldy. Doesn't seem like they plan on shutting the doors anytime soon (I've redacted the potentially offensive terms. You know, like simple names. Very touchy): "Attention REDACTED customers and supporters. We are moving! Our long-awaited move to Dallas is about to take place. REDACTED will be moving operations to REDACTED. The move will commence on June 11th and will be completed on June 18th. Our customer service staff will be available during the move to answer any questions you might have on your submission and any submission already on its way will be re-routed to our new facility. Our goal is to limit the impact on production as much as possible, but there could be slight delays on some of the services during the move. This is bittersweet, as we are saying goodbye to our first home in St. Petersburg, but we are very excited at the opportunities opening for us and our valued clients in Dallas. Our office numbers will remain the same Phone: REDACTED Toll Free: REDACTED Our new facility will be sharing the same office space as Beckett Grading and Authentication Services. This move offers REDACTED many positive opportunities that we have not had over the last few years. More room to work, more staff to handle/process orders, help with show planning, and a few new services/products that will be coming soon are just a few of the things we are excited about. The move of REDACTED to Dallas will not change our continued devotion to providing consistent comic book grading according to our established standards while providing the best customer service in the hobby. You, our client base, will always come first! REDACTED, President and Head Grader for REDACTED, stated, “Collectors do not have to be concerned about the consistency of our grading standards during, or after, our move to Dallas. Our graders will be moving with the company, so REDACTED will not face a loss of grading knowledge and experience. I am humbled by the dedication our amazing employees have shown during our transition with Beckett Media and the upcoming move to Dallas.” Should you have any questions or concerns about the relocation, please feel free to contact us at REDACTED We look forward to seeing and serving you at our greatly improved office surroundings. Remember our new address is: REDACTED **Please ship all submissions to our new address after June 7th, 2018 to avoid possible delays in receiving invoices. Thank you all for your continued support and, as always, happy collecting! The REDACTED Team"
  4. ooooh! NICE! Probably my all time favorite book. Congrats!
  5. You can make more if you part 'em out.
  6. OOOOOooooh, never seen that Aliens preview before, that is very cool!
  7. This was my recollection as well. I know when I put in my pre-order at the shop, I ordered all five of them up front, with the understanding that the first four were different covers and the final was an amalgamation of them all. It's been a while back, but I'm 99.9% sure that was the case.
  8. Tis truly the gift that keeps on giving.
  9. Yes, absolutely! I enjoyed the Kyle/Jost/Crain run, and feel that Remender just really brought it all home with his series. It felt like he was doing something new with the X-Men while also digging deep into the mythos. It was the sort of run that rewarded new readers as well as long timers. Just a great run all around.
  10. "Gamera is really neat he is made of turtle meat" - MST3k
  11. I've tried the various comic runs, didn't care for any of them. In fact, the only Deadpool I enjoyed was as a part of Remender's tremendous Uncanny X-Force run, which is the best X-title since my youth, no contest. His take on Deadpool was the definitive one for me. As for the movies, I've seen them both now, and I enjoyed them, though I doubt I'd need to see either of them again. They're essentially extremely violent, live action cartoons. I enjoy that sort of distraction from time to time.
  12. Wait, why did the Friday Thread happen on the weekend while I was gone?
  13. Oooh, those look terrific. So excited by the idea that Sideshow may once again release a PF that isn't Bats/Supes/WW/Harley. They used to produce such a variety but that seems to have fallen by the wayside in favor of the big sellers, so this is pretty great. Ollie looks terrific. I'll be voting with my wallet and supporting these choices!
  14. And I believe that post-Crisis, it was revealed that Proty took Garth's place, and Garth actually had died. Could be wrong about that, it's been a while.
  15. If we have any Blu-Ray/movie collectors here, Fox has released these amusing Deadpool "Photobomb" edition slipcovers this week. The movies are the same, they just feature a new limited Deadpool slipcover. Walmart exclusive, and they seem fairly limited, with each store only 3 copies or of each movie, or thereabouts. I believe there are 16 in all, I only picked up the ones that I found most amusing. Most of these are about $6, a couple are $8, and I believe Logan was $12. PS: They also include moviecash for Deadpool 2, $5 on most of them, $8 worth on the more expensive titles.
  16. So cool! I don't need another thing to collect, but I loved MUSCLE when I was a kid. Had the little wrestling ring and everything.
  17. Yeah, he's on Twitter saying that his account had been hijacked, and that he finally has control of his own Twitter account. Posted a video too. Seems like never-ending drama with Stan these days.
  18. Didn't he make a bunch of cash selling his warehouse space to pot dealers? His real estate is probably worth more than all of his over-priced books combined, On a side note, I actually placed an order with Mile High during their Tax Time sale, as with that discount I was able to pick up a handful of drekky run-fillers cheaper than MCS. It just worked out. ONE MONTH LATER, i finally got a shipping confirmation. I mean...that's nuts.
  19. Seems like there have been several Bagley pages in each of the last few auctions. I wonder if it's one collector slowly letting go of their stash? Suppose it could just be a coincidence, of course. Nothing much for me in this go round, so I'll just be a spectator. For what it's worth, I feel that the McFarlane Spidey will definitely cross the $100k mark. Just seems to be the way the market is going on "big" pieces these days, up and up! I think the estimates above of $103 to $106 seem right on.
  20. Yup. I like to subscribe, read a bunch of books in a month, then unsubscribe, wait a couple of months, and rejoin. There aren't a lot of modern Marvels that I'm interested in reading, but the Star Wars titles alone (plus the entire library of Dark Horse SW stuff that they added) make for a very good value.
  21. Way back when I worked at my LCS, we had an intercom system that went to our storage room next door. Every night, 30 mins before closing, someone would go over to the storage room with a list of books to pull from restock, to replace what sold that day. As a part of this routine, it was also customary to call over on the intercom, requesting that the person also "pull a giant sized Man-Thing." This never got old.
  22. Not a Superman fan, but she's terrific in De Palma's "Sisters", and the seminal slasher "Black Christmas". R.I.P.
  23. Well, for one, the "jerks" was a humorous aside, but perhaps that doesn't translate on a message board. I call everyone jerks, even people I love. Jerks, one and all. However, I do think that if a time is set for a sale to start...then that's when the sale should start. So maybe my problem isn't with the early bird jerks, it's with the sellers who let stuff go before their advertised time. Sure, I probably didn't miss much, but if you state a time, you should stick with it.
  24. Comic Scene was great! It predates Wizard, launched in the 80's. Outside of comic shops, it was just about the only comic news related magazine that you could find on regular newsstand shelves, like at your local grocery or whatever. It was basically just comic book news, articles, etc. They had a section dedicated to the development of comic book movies, which seemed like a total pipe dream when I was a kid, until Batman came out. I would check those pages every month (or whatever the publishing schedule was) hoping to see an update on Terry Gilliam's "Watchmen" movie, or an update on a Booster Gold/Blue Beetle show. Oh, those were days.
