  1. Yeah, I don't really like this costume either. I'm really only interested in the original costume. Of course, since it's SST, I'm sure they'll release another one in a year or two, so I'm content to wait.
  2. Geeeezus. I remember when you could get these in a pack of Sally Forth comics from Bud Plant for about $8 for the set. Mine is long sold, probably for less than $20.
  3. See, I don't like this HQ portrait either. It's an improvement over the hideous mug on their first PF, for sure, but still not something I'd want to own. I bought the exclusive of the first one and sold it when the prices started popping up, because I couldn't stand either head sculpt. Was hoping that one day I'd replace it with something I liked better. This ain't it.
  4. Ugh, gonna be here for a while. I get off work in two hours, then have dinner with the wife and folks...wonder if it'll be closer to what I'm looking at by around 7pm est?
  5. Wow, I was underbidder on this Azpiri piece in the last focused auction. It sold for $400. It's now up on eBay with a $3k asking price! 6. I'm a very, very small fish. Probably an entirely different pond than most of the folks on here.
  7. This has been in the owner's gallery since 2007, so I doubt they're giving it up anytime soon. This issue knocked me out when I was a kid, and this page in particular knocked the air out of me. I even wrote a letter about the issue and got it published!
  8. That's very interesting. I vastly prefer the bold zig-zag of the original to the washed out digital fog of the printed version.
  9. Yeah, for me that's worth the upgrade to the exclusive, it looks really nice!
  10. Now that we're talking about flesh and blood women, I will concur, Milana is a cutie. Most people know her as the funny gal on the AT&T commercials.
  11. Going through a stack of Archies to give my niece, this one seemed more appropriate for my collection than hers.
  12. Mondo's 1/6 BTAS Batman figure is finally up for order. You can order it through Mondo, BBTS, etc, but Mondo has an exclusive with a HARDAC head, windswept cape, and some other stuff. $170 shipped for the exclusive, but you can do a flex pay on it to convince yourself that you're not spending that much. I wonder when Mr. Freeze will go up for order? https://mondotees.com/products/batman-1-6-scale-figure-mondo-deluxe-exclusive
  13. That makes sense. Something is definitely happening. I'll be curious to see if most of it just levels off now, and if this means there isn't a big push at the very end.
  14. That's awesome, do you still have that picture? At least you had it when you were a kid and were able to play with it, garbage pail kid stickers and all! My folks were very generous (I was spoiled for sure) but even they drew the line at the 7' long aircraft carrier. I had to wait until I was older to buy one for myself. I was 19 and working at a local comic shop, and the shop bought one from a guy for $20 or something, and I bought it from the shop for $30. It wasn't complete, but for $30, it was plenty nice, still had the box, etc. I was still living with my folks at that point, so I dragged it home and put it together in the basement. So despite their best efforts, my folks still ended up with the damn thing in their house. I sold it a few years later to a friend who is a Joe completist (his collection is INSANE), and he cleaned it with a toothbrush, printed new stickers, and completed the thing. It's still at his house whenever I want to visit it.
  15. I never buy statues with the intention of selling them, I just have collecting ADHD, my interests bounce around a bit, so sometimes I decide to channel funds from one piece into something new. I can only imagine what it must have looked like dragging all of those blocks of styrofoam away. Geez louise.
  16. Larry is a very cool guy, you'll have a blast! Be sure to post up some pics of your Joes!
  17. Yeah. I go back and forth with Joes. Loved them as a kid, had a ton of them, sold them all when I grew up. Then in the late 90's I started rebuying what I had when I was a kid...and then sold them again. And rebought them again. And sold them again. Rinse and repeat. I love 'em, but there's so many of them that it's just not realistic to pursue the line the way I'd like. I had actually been free of the Joe addiction for a few years, then I went to a Joe convention with my buddy this summer, and the bug bit again. Since then I've only picked up a handful of carded figures, but I'm trying to save up a bit to return to the con this summer.
  18. HAD one! ha I sold it to a friend a few years ago when I decided to get out of Joes. But recently I've been hankering to get it back, so I'm mentally drawing up plans for where I could fit it.
